Consultants: Basic salaries range from £105,504 to £139,882 per year.
Specialist Grade Doctors: Basic salaries range from £96,990 to £107,155 per year.
Salaried GPs: Basic salaries are determined by the NHS contract, which includes factors like length of service.
Additional Income: Consultants can supplement their NHS salary with private practice, with earnings depending on the specialty, experience, and workload.
And let's not forget the commission gp's get via the drug companies.

As a man, and a father, I understand wanting a better life with better working conditions.
You can pretend that life doesn't get better with more money, but you'd be wrong. It's not everything (health for example), but it sure can take some pressure off if you are highly paid.
Of course money matters, we all have to live, no one is disputing that. No one here is pretending anything from what I can see. You cannot seem to grasp that not everyone is led by money and some look for job satisfaction moreso…whether that’s working on the bins or in a top paying hospital. You’ll just have to accept that not everyone shares your opinion.
The NHS isn’t perfect and from what I’ve learned, from an American friend of long standing, neither is the US medical services.
Yes, but if people find satisfaction elsewhere, shouldn't that concern you? Especially when your health is involved?.

I’d question why someone would go into, eg, a caring profession if the goal was simply for financial reasons. Financial reasons being totally different to job satisfaction, as has been said numerous times.

Now that Reform are ahead in the polls, Starmer has decided to act the tough guy on immigration. It's pretty transparent, and we all know why he's doing it.
The thing is, he's only dealing with legal immigration and remains clueless how to stop the illegals coming in.
Farage says that Starmer is making promises that he cannot keep. Nothing new there then, as Labour seem to just 'say anything' at any given time, with no comebacks
Farage also said "On the day of Keir Starmer’s big fightback against Reform UK, 250 young men are already crossing the Channel by 08:00. How many are Iranian terrorists?"

Give the idiot a break, he’s busy still trying to work out “what is a woman”.

To be fair, now the supreme court has told him what a woman is...he seems to be going along with it.

Its so paradoxical all the stick Labour and Starmer get when Tory PM Liz Truss crashed the economy overnight. The joke in the red top(Tory!) tabloids was she wouldn't last in the position as long as a specifically selected lettuce (and she didn't) but of course crashing the economy wasn't funny. Yet the Tories were so inept they became comical. Boris johnson had the partygate scandal, telling people they had to video call their dying relatives to observe social distancing while he and his chums completely broke the rules. The inquiry showed Johnson didn't have a clue how to handle the pandemic, ignored scientists insisting closing airports on time which brought more covid into the country. I believe it was Sunak who said "go out to eat, save businesses!" Of course scientists objected and covid cases soared. People try so hard to ridicule Starmer but he has also slashed controlled immigration by half whilst the tories left us 20 million in the red. He is a far superior PM to any of the Tories.

LMAO at Starmer - in his attempt to impersonate Farage, he has come out with 'an island of strangers' comment and is coming under flak from his own MPs - they say he is 'mimicking the far right with shameful and dangerous language'
One has even compared it to Enoch Powell's famous Rivers of Blood speech!
'Shame on you Kier Starmer' seeems to be general view among Labour MPs. There is already a growing rebellion over winter fuel and PiP - I cannot see this idiot lasting his full term now that his own MPs are turning on him in their droves.

More illegals poured in today and with the weather so good, thousands more will invade before the end of summer! 😞

290 illegals have landed here in the last 2 days (that's not counting today) They have come in on five boats...almost certainly young men, we have no idea who they are and what their intentions are....but I doubt any nurses are amongst them.

You pay them better than third world nations..
I didn't bring up the fact that so much of your medical community is filled with cheap immigrant labor to control costs. I did show that many of your native born medical professionals are opting to leave. I am making an assumption that those that do leave might be the cream of your crop and not just money grubbing half wits.

Of course they are paid better than third world countries. I have already pointed out that Dr's get a very good wage, no matter which country they come from....and many will have been trained and educated in the UK anyway.
We do need to train our own nurses rather than import so many....that probably is down to cost, but I wouldn't call nurses who work here 'cheap immigrant labour'. Once they are here, they will get the same wage as nurses who were bred and born here.

Your doctors, nor your nurses get a very good wage compared to similar countries.
You don't seem to think that impacts outcomes. Maybe your right.
It definitely causes many to look elsewhere for better pay and conditions..
