Said it was easier than a 9 to 5. Her mate showed up as I was doing her nails (in my nail tech days) and started chatting about her own clients, and what laugh she had. There was nothing reluctant about either of them. They tried to get me to do it and I was like....I won't even go topless on the beach..fuck off!

That was when I was younger too. I've never been into going topless...not even when I was teenager and it was the done thing for all teenagers to do. Odd considering I used to prance around in a skimpy outfit for a living.

Yes but the costumes were not that skimpy really, at least from what I have seen there is far less flesh on show than a lot of women on a weekend night out.

I worked in the busiest and best clubs in Manchester when I was younger, working and running the bars, when I was out (and I am still the same) I always hated going to the bar to order. If it was my round I would give the money to a friend and she would go for me.

Wives do a lot for husbands generally( or at least they used to)and that's why married men are currently the happiest demographic yet single women are happier than married one's.Married women cook breakfast ,lunch, dinner, clean, dust, hoover, wash dishes, polish,,get the shopping,put the shopping away, tidy up, manage finances,lend a sympathetic ear, boost her husband's confidence, be intimate sexually and emotionally.
Sometimes even a woman needs a wife.
As for the original question the two scenarios are unforgivable imo in different ways. My OH being in love with another woman would shatter me. A one night stand would anger and hurt me. I can't say which is worse because both are huge betrayals on different levels. I might have forgiven a one night stand when I was younger but not now. And it would never leave my mind.
So if either happened yes I would show him the door.

Sometimes you can love them and love the way it used to be and hope it will work out. If you have invested many years together I should imagine it would be difficult to just walk away.

I'm not sure that's as applicable nowadays with so-called equality, but generally, it's certainly much fairer than it was a couple of generations ago.
One thing I have noticed with the older generation of married couples (being one myself) so many men of retirement age are miserable buggers...I have friends and relatives, who when they hit 60 plus, the woman is still vibrant and ready to take on new challenges....the man is happy to 'potter'.
Thankfully my OH isn't like that, so whilst we still have the health and strength to get out and about and enjoy life, we do. But it's not the case for everyone.
One of my closest friends had little in common with her husband after the kids left home. They stayed together and tolerated each other, but their relationship was distant. She always said if he died she would manage very well without him.
He died in his 60's....she has had more holidays and trips abroad in the few years since than she had in the 40 odd years they were married. She has definately thrived without him.
