Why not simply express condolences/leave flowers to Sarah and then move on, why stay all night?
How many are truly genuinely devastated about a woman they never met and the issues raised or am I too cynical?
There were plenty of 'bash the pigs' type anarchists there on Sat as well, that seems to have past the broadcasters and newspapers by because it does not fit the narrative of the evil coppers brutalising our virtue signalling heroes/heroines.
Currently there are thousands demonstrating in Parliament Square as well - not socially distancing and many are not even wearing a mask.
If a virus could express emotion COVID would be laughing it's tiny arse off.

Something else it will do, women feel fear, but when something does happen they also feel shame. So many women dont tell of attacks, be they violent or sexual, this outpouring of anger will help women speak out when men try to demean them.

I agree with this. Definitely good for women to speak out rather than try to hide it as that's part of the massive problem. It's kind of taken seriously but not enough. Like that up-skirting thing. Or spying on women in toilets, showers, etc, and revenge porn.

Does the Reclaim the Streets campaign offer any constructive solutions to the problem? Or is it demanding the Government sort it out one way or the other?
This is how the BBC is reporting it (I used the link icon and it worked in preview)
Perhaps if women thought they were being treated fairly that would be a start. When female victims of violent street crime are considered less than the scum who violate them, as in this case in todays Manchester Evening News, no wonder women feel they have had enough.
Man who attacked woman walking home at night avoids jail 'as he would lose his job
A man who forced himself on a young woman as she walked home alone late at night has walked free after complaining he would lose his job if he went to jail.
Takeaway worker Javed Miah, 23, ambushed the terrified victim in the street before pulling her to the floor and molesting her.
Miah only fled when the unnamed woman managed to used the SOS function on her mobile phone to call 999, letting out a loud beeping noise.
The victim, who works in Oldham, later told police: “Since the assault, I have not been able to leave the house or work.
'I do not know if he knows my route to work. I am scared to walk anywhere. I will have to rely on my friends or family to drive me to work out of fear.''
Miah, of Lees Street in Shaw, ran off down an alleyway but was arrested later.
The defendant faced jail after admitting sexual assault but was sent on a sex offender rehabilitation programme after pleading he was a ''the sole earner'' in his family.
Mr Conroy said the defendant asked if she knew what time it was and she replied.
He continued to follow her for around another one minute, the court heard.
The defendant then went up to her and groped her bum cheek.
Mr Conroy added: “She was shocked and frightened. She told him it was not right for him to do this. He had his arms around her chest and then the next thing she knew, she was on the floor on top of him. He lifted his right hand towards her crotch and started to move her hand up towards her chest.
“She said ‘my mind froze, I was in total shock’. She managed to get out her mobile phone and use the SOS function to call 999. This let out a loud beeping sound and this forced him to instantly let go and run away down an alleyway. She had said nothing to him to warrant giving him any right of doing this.
Miah gave no comment in police interview. His lawyer Saul Comish said in mitigation: ''This offence was quite opportunistic.
''He is in employment at a takeaway where he works from 4 to 11pm. He is married and is a father to a four-year-old child. If you feel a custodial sentence is required, he would lose his job and he the sole earner for his family, so this would have a significant impact."
Paki and Purr were words used quite openly and often not so long ago.
How did we stop it?
By stopping it on radio and television by making it unacceptable for the Benny Hills and Bernard Manning types by theaters and television censoring comedians not allowing them space.
Seemed like a small thing at the time.
Seemed like a small invasion of free speech but it worked and the result being we have largely defeated that kind of speech now so I find it a little odd when people think the Benny Hill type jokes and innuendo are acceptable regarding women.

It was of it's time.
Benny Hill humour was like saucy postcard humour, times change and what some people found harmless fun is now considered very un pc.
I dont recall Benny Hill ever using the word Paki...and I have never heard the word purr used unless it's to describe the sound a cat makes.

The news is peppered with this kind of complaint. Womens safety on the streets is not taken seriously.
"Corrine Priest, who starred in Les Misérables in the West End, claims she was followed and harassed by a man after she complained about people not wearing face masks on the Tube. Video footage shows the man calling her a 'posh c***' and a 'sl**' as she walked home from Hendon Tube Station in London last November. Ms Priest (right) says she gave officers the suspect's name and telephone number, and footage of his appearance on a television dating show. But four months on from the incident, she says Scotland Yard still refuse to 'take this kind of thing seriously.' Her comments come amid fury over the force's handling of a vigil held on Saturday evening for Sarah Everard on Clapham Common."

He wouldn't have done that to a a large man.
Speaking of men, We need to do better at calling these fuckers out.
As I've gotten older I have mellowed quite a bit, but I still can't stand fucking bullies. You mess with someone because they are weaker than you, and I'll jump down your throat.
My daughters have seen me go ballistic on a guy talking shit to them (so have two of my son in laws so they know how crazy I can get )
While I'm not making excuses, I think a lot of men are of the mindset that women are supposed to handle their own shit because they are equal. I don't care how progressive you are, you are a damn fool if you think the typical woman is able to physically handle an aggressive male. They need allies in that department. Men need to step up. You don't even have to be physical. Just asking the guy to leave her alone will work more times than not.

It's finally being revealed that Extinction Rebellion, Antifa and Black Lives Matter infiltrated Clapham event in order to whip up trouble. Sadly, no matter the good cause behind these vigils and demonstrations there's always an element that get into the core of it to cause violence. All it takes is a handful to start spitting or attacking the police and the whole thing implodes. This is obviously what happened.

The BBC themselves turned it into a criticise the police narrative. Sometimes you find the media working with activists in order to create stories the media can sell. Many demonstrations are collusions with elements of the media and activists organising the protests.
