This will be an emergency situation for hundreds of thousands of housholds....they need the help as soon as the weather starts getting colder....and October is when the huge increases are about to kick in.
It's all very well saying what the government should have done, or what they did wrong...this can't be fixed overnight, and the help is needed now.
Seriously, would you let people with young families, OAP's, the sick and the vulnerable, go cold this winter, or would you help them out by giving money towards their bills?
So far, the least worse off will receive around £1000 total, people on disability will get £150,and ALL households will receive £400.....it's a start.

You may have to help some folks. The rest should just have to suffer until supplies increase..
All households getting money is political pandering and economic madness. The kind of shit that created the problems in the first place.
Has there been a move towards reversing the fracking ban?
What is the long term plan to fix this problem?.
More bread and circuses?

I agree that all households getting help seems unnecessary, some obviously don't need it, but I guess it would be more trouble sorting out who should be entitled and who shouldn't.
I dont know what the long or short term plans are re fracking or getting supplies in and down in price.....maybe there are none, we have had Boris in control for a couple of years.

I'm not talking about getting supplies in.
I'm talking about you boosting your supply of energy, so that when lunatics 1000 miles away decide to.be lunatics, it doesn't impact your economy as much..
And I'm talking about the monetary policies that created inflation. Inflation that robs the typical working Brit if thousands of dollars a year.
You have to fix inflation first. Everything else is political theater..
