😲
I had 2 ops. They found cancer after original hysterectomy, they didn't do any checks before operation, so I had to have a radical hysterectomy on top of the other one. Cut up my stomach to check my liver, kidneys, bowels as the cancer was penetrating it. I was very lucky to be alive.. I was only 40.
I was off work months with all that.

That sounds horrendous, but if you hadn't had the hysterectomy the cancer may have gone undetected. You had it very rough....so glad the outcome was good Mags. x

Thanx Syl. It was just after my 40th birthday. I've always loved my birthdays, but they became even more special since then, as I'm still here to see them. 😁

But did they cut you open or go through the v? I got a 6 inch cut with my hernia op, through muscle etc and there's no way I could have gone sledging?

They went through the V....and that's a very ladylike way of putting it.

Apparently when they check the prostate they go through the A. There was a push by the NHS a few years ago promoting this.

I'm glad you are Mags x
You know when I had that stomach ulcer that burst and i lost all the blood and had multiple transfusions a couple of years ago, I appreciate life more too.
Almost dying puts things in perspective and makes you realise what's important and what's not.

I hope Kate makes a full recovery and shame on the sick trolls who hounded her and made all sort of horrible remarks, claims and photos about her.
Oh and some are still at it on Twitter, I hope Karma pays them a visit.

Glad you're ok too. Yes life is all the more sweeter when you could lose your life. They told me I would have had a year to.live if they couldn't operate to get it all out. I'm so.lucky they could.

Vita, I took the picture off, in the circumstances I don't think it was appropriate.

A cancer specialist was talking on TV after Kate's announcement.
He said he had treated hundreds of cancer patients, and quite a lot of them said it was because of the cancer that they now appreciated life so much more.
I think we all have to go through bad times to appreciate the good.
