Seems that this DEI policy has brought the right wing and liberal misogynists out in full force.

I totally agree. If I was in need of security, I know who I would have.

One of the most telling videos is that of the female Secret Service member trying to reholster her weapon. She fumbles and bumbles while another messes with her sunglasses.
These are "diversity" hires and definitely do not represent the best we have in this country.
What are diversity hires?
DEI is a program here that stands for diversity, equity and inclusion.
It's basically hiring based on being a member of certain group, as opposed to merit.
The secret service has been trying to boost the number of female agents.
I watched a clip of Trump walking in the RNC last night.
He was flanked by about 6 large men that appeared to mean nothing but business.
Woman have a roll in the secret service, but probably not on the ground in the personal detail.
Would you also apply that to police officers, fire fighters and so on?

Its highlighted that certain jobs should be filled exclusively on merit..
You can't have a chubby woman on Seal Team 6 to fill a damn quota.
As a former secert service member said yesterday, we were the premier security detail on the planet and quite the exclusive group.
Not any more..

Any job should be filled by the most suitable applicant that can do the job best.
If that's a woman, a person of colour, an older/younger person, a LBGT ect ect...that's who the job should go to.
But sod this 'woke' society that insists that so many women/people of colour/older/younger/gay and God knows what else should be given the job just to be seen to be treating them equally.
Just as an aside, yesterday I saw a male police officer who could have been no more than 5'5'', my dad was a cop, and back then the minimum requirement for a male police officer was 6ft.

Yes.
I know a female firefighter.
She also does crossfit to stay in peak physical shape.
She can physically do the job.
When it comes to the secret service, if most applicants aren't flunking out, the bar is too low..

My ex was 5 8. It was the Met Police who had a 6ft requirement back in the 1980s anyway. I think they dropped the minimum height ages ago.

Hello,
I haven't been here for a while, good to see it's still around. If someone can do the job as has already been said so be it.
There shouldn't be quotas for different genders, ethnicity etc.
For 30 years I did a job that was traditionally a man's job - lots of lifting and carrying, there are a lot of women doing it now though but I would caution them to use all the technology available. My knees are completely wrecked!

I'm 5" 3 and tried to join police in the 70s. Too short .
Can't remember how many years later, but I remember they had an Asian girl very short!

Hi Vintage, welcome back.
.......
I dont think there are any height restrictions in the police force now, which is a good thing.
Pretty disgusting the number of people who find this attempted assassination amusing.
I know,.I'm disgusted with them. He who laughs last, they should watch their step.

This is why head shots are a bad idea for hunting.
Your target moves its head as you are squeezing the trigger, you wound it and it dies a slow miserable death and you never find it. The coyotes and buzzards do.
Now, maybe that stupid kid was aiming for center mass and is just that bad of a shot. Supposedly he couldn't even make his school rifle team.
In any event, it's amazing how one or two inches can change the entire world.

A school rifle team?
You mean you have school shooting competitions?
Is that a good idea?

Used to be common in most schools.
Not so much anymore, but it's an Olympic sport and a college sport..
While all guns are lethal, these target rifles for competition aren't designed well for anything other than shooting paper targets..
The women in the secret service are a joke.
There should be a minimum height and fitness level for entry.
One of them was about 5ft and was cowering behind Trump as the bullets were flying.
Look at Clint Hill back in the day, he's the type you want in it.
Not some short arse female.

A 5'6'' copper can be just as able as a 6' one.
