"Fans from all participating countries can vote over the phone, by text, or through the Eurovision app. However, they can't vote for their own country's entry.
The public's votes make up half of the total score, with the other half coming from a professional jury in each country."
The UK were doing OK from the professional juries votes, we were about 10th I think.
But then the fans votes are added separately, and just like last year, we received zero votes, which plummeted us right down. At least we got some votes, and the italian jury even gave us the top marks.
We never win this now. No matter the song or singer. I think we should pull out now. It's all political as I said before.
I think if we have a brilliant song and singer, we do well.
In 2022 we would have come first with Sam Ryders 'Spaceman', which was a great song. The Ukraine won everyones support, understandably, and pipped him to the post.

Yep, rightly or wrongly, politics seeps into everything Mags. People wanted Israel banned from entering this year, as it was, she had a great song.

This started on ITVX last night....the first episode was really good.
"Code of Silence" is a six-part crime drama that follows Alison Woods, a deaf caterer portrayed by Rose Ayling-Ellis. The series revolves around Alison's unique skills as a lip reader, which she uses to assist the police in a high-stakes investigation involving dangerous criminals."

First 2 episodes of The Better Sister are quite good - a murder mystery combined with family tensions.
The 2 main cops are as annoying as fuck though

I have only just discovered a brilliant but shocking six part series "Painkiller" on Netflix, detailing the Oxycodone epidemic in the states. Big pharma is ruthless and they knew oxy would lead to addiction and destroy lives but all they cared about was profit. Obviously it was a drama so most of the characters were fictional but the doctors getting extra money to prescribe patients Oxycodone was sadlyall too real. However some believed it was safe.. at first. The sales rep's were often young and ambitious, seducing doctors if that's what it took to sell their product and earn big bonuses. I had no idea medicines are sold this way to doctors in America, another dark side of private healthcare. It was satirical at times and very bleak, contrasting smug sales reps at parties boasting about their new cars with unsuspecting patients losing their families and becoming addicts, seeing their lives crumble around them. It's a real eye opener and well acted. I highly recommend it although it's not an easy watch.

If you like real life cases, try The Real Fatal Attraction (Netflix) - a true crime story that shows how far a jilted lover can go to get revenge.
