Have you all had your vaccines now? They are doing the low 30s now so I guess you all have.
What side effects did you have?
I thought I was dying both times. I hope the boosters don't do that
I have not had my second jab yet but the first led to a very slight soreness of the arm for a day or two and that was it.
What are you waiting for?
The notification for when my second jab is due from the medical centre - you can't just turn up there and demand one.

Oh.
Well, at your advanced age I figured you would be done by now.

We're doing kids here. Dogs and cats are next.

We have areas in the North where the Indian virus is causing real concern. Because it's being spread mostly by the younger people there have been calls for all people over 16 to be vaccinated as soon as possible in those areas, the government have refused, they are sticking to their original plan of vaccinating people according to age.
Sounds wrong to me.
We are throwing vaccines away daily, looking for arms.
It's a waste. Time to start shipping that stuff overseas.
My Mexican buddy has another friend flying in the weekend to get their shot.
That's bad.
People are dying in some countries because there is a shortage, no country should be wasting them.

Yeah, we are going to keep trying to get more people vaccinated, but I think the number that will actually want it is getting pretty low by now.
On the other hand, we are starting on kids, so maybe there will be less waste. We have a whole new set of arms.

The people in the areas here where the new variant is set to be the dominant strain....which will then shortly become the dominant strain across the UK, must be totally fed up with the idiots who are refusing to have the vaccination for no good reason other than they are selfish.
And speaking of selfish....pubs and restaurants were at last allowed to open and serve food indoors as from yesterday.
We had a long ago booked table in a place near us....arrived at 8pm, surprisingly the place was half empty.
The owner told us that 16 bookings just hadn't turned up....they didn't even have the grace to cancel so the establishment could take other bookings to try to claw back some of the money they have lost since the pandemic started.

People are.going to take awhile to change their mind set. Especially older people.
In a few weeks, things will be different. Same with our masks here. Certain places still have most folks wearing masks, even though the mandate was dropped a few days ago.

Here it's the older people mainly in the ethnic minority groups that haven't taken the vaccine when offered....whether the majority of younger ones will when it's offered is yet to be seen.
It's reported that the majority of people now in hospital with the newer Indian strain are the ones who have refused the jab.

Not on the BBC though - that would be 'racist'.

The BBC do try their best not to mention Asian, Muslim, ot ethnic minorities when they are reporting about Asans, Muslims and etnic minorities.

Because the JCVI the experts in the area of vaccines recommend to stick to that way.
Sometimes some folks, want Government to follow experts. Other times they don't. It's crazy imo. It's a cake and eat it scenario.

Sometimes common sense has to come into play.
In Bolton the uptake of the virus has been one of the lowest in the country, the spread of the virus is now the highest in the country....so it would make sense to vaccinate whoever is willing to have it...regardless of age.

In Texas, the governor just made it illegal for any local or state entity to require masks in its buildings. This includes schools (effective in about a month).
Of course employees and visitors can still wear one, you just can't be forced to wear one.

Looking at those scenes in the news the past week made me think.
The Ganges, biologically dead, full of raw sewage, domestic and industrial waste, toxic chemicals, and vast numbers of decomposing human and animal bodies floating past 24/7 - the Indian authorities have really taken care of their Holiest river over the years haven't they?
I would rather be shot than risk bathing in there.

The best way of stopping Hospitalizations and deaths rising is what it appears the experts and then after that the Government continue to favour.
They did consider vaccinating younger people faster idea. It was put out there. As you would of heard. But the JCVIs conclusion was on balance it's still best to carry on going down the ages in order.

I think quite soon mask wearing should be left up to people's personal Judgement instead of being mandatory in certain circumstances. Once you approach 80% first doses 60% second something around that.
I actually think many will carry on wearing them for now at least in some circumstances anyway one reason being because we are now kinda used to it.
A few days ago secondary schools were told that the pupils don't have to wear them anymore here.

Yeah, I still see a lot of masks in places where you don't need them.
Because of our political issues, the mask has become a bit of symbol for our politics. So folks on the leftish, are still wearing them like a "ribbon".
Even though the CDC has stated they are no longer necessary.

With the BBC's pitifully obvious agenda when covering Bolton (showing only white poor people being vaccine deniers) just musing on one of my pet subjects.
All religion is bullshit (in my opinion because I like facts not millennia old superstition cobblers before the rise of science), some far, far less than others.
But Islam here and around the world is like the school bully, very loud, very aggressive and very, very stupid.
Yet here in the UK the authorities have been so terrified of offending anyone they would not allow the showing of the Charlie Hebdo cartoons and turned (and still turn) a blind eye to the mass Pakistani/Bangladeshi rape gangs by certain blokes in 'communities' up and down the UK in case they are accused of 'racism'.
I wonder why the far left Feminist/Male/LGBT groups and BLM are so very silent on this matter - especially the treatment of LGBT and females by the above?
The simple simple answer is fear of violent retaliation (or worse).
It's wrong in my view - we have supposed to have free speech.

Well they are now vaccinating 18's and over without appointments in some special centres in Greater Manchester.....maybe they read here.
