Was out for a (mild!) curry with friends last night, and out to a BBQ lunch tomorrow.
So I’m having some ‘finger food’ in front of the telly tonight - I made some guacamole and chucked in some shrimp and very finely-chopped red onion, with some Lebanese flatbread to scoop it all up (that’s like pita bread, but much softer and floppier).
One time I got Chicken Vindaloo with the 5 level of spice (we do 1-5, with 5 being the hottest)..
I won't do that again. I was definitely dewormed..

Dawg, I’ve never understood the appeal of people wanting to set their mouths on fire! 🥵 🤷🏻♀️

I like spicy food, but if it causes nose bleeds, that's a bit too much..

Chippy tea.
I get about 2 a year, so it's quite an event.
Fish, chip and curry sauce.

Sounds tasty.
My fish meal fell flat.
When OH got home and unwrapped....they hadn't put the chips in.

If it’s any consolation my fish fingers (a substitute in my online order) weren’t very tasty so I won’t be in a hurry to finish the pack off any time soon.
Hope you got your order sorted.

That's a shame. Some of the substitutions when I used to order online bore no resemblance to what I actually ordered.
I went without the chips, they were not worth driving back for.

The only saving grace with my last order was a pack of scones being replaced with more expensive ones for the same price - 2 packs infact due to differing content number(s)…makes up for the mediocre fish fingers. I’ve heard of some crazy substitutions though.
Sorry you went chipless, bummer. Chippy fish and chips used to be real treat for us when we were kids - been so long since I’ve had some I couldn’t hazard a guess how much it costs now.

A couple of replacements I recall...I ordered lamb shanks and received shepherds pie (OK, I suppose the connection was lamb) and I ordered salmon steaks and received smoked kippers.
A chippy tea is a real treat for me even now, OH doesn't like fish, curry, chippy chips etc...so he puts up with a couple of pies. I was really looking forwards to my meal. Sadly a fried fish swimming in curry sauce didn't really cut it.
Enjoy your scones. x

Sounds great. I’ve opted for a bowl of ice-cream and fresh fruit, can’t be bothered eating a full meal let alone cooking it.

Just a sarnie. I always lose my appetite when it’s hot.

Homemade salmon & dill fishcakes.
And I’m gonna try this simple little salad that popped up on my Google suggestions page.

I normally do a similar cucumber salad with Greek yoghurt and fresh mint. Never occurred to me to try a sour cream variation.
Sounds lovely, as do the fishcakes.
I love cucumber, OH won't eat it, and if he finds mayo has been added to a bought sandwich, he can sulk all day.
Yet his favourite Greek dip is tzatziki....
Hate to break it to you - the sourcream combo was delish!
