Home insurance has risen by almost 50% from my last years bill. They won't budge, said they now send out the lowest offer so no room for manoeuvre. The huge rise is due to the weather and others making claims...not me though.
Had a ring round and apart from companies I have never heard of, everywhere has gone up.
Everything going up Syl, it's ridiculous.
It is.
I feel for the younger ones starting out now. I know we had it rough too, but expectations were a lot lower then, and we didn't have wealth shoved under our noses, because most people in the society we lived in were in the same boat.
There is an awful lot wrong with the way this country is run...and sadly, as in the Thatcher era, the rich are getting richer whilst the poor are increasing.

Yes it is Syl. It's all commercial. Must have society, whereas we had to save for what we needed, and not must have. We were all the same, all changed now.

It all changed in the late 60's.
Our parents and those before them avoided credit (the never never) apart from the slate at the corner shop maybe out of pride and shame.
A three piece suite a bed a kitchen cupboard would last a lifetime.
After the war economies needed boosting beyond what was previously deemed normal but that would mean large wage increases again and again.
So credit was talked up and advertised to make it look glamorous... no shame involved in debt any longer.
It was to become the normal.
Production of everything could go into overdrive creating millions of jobs.
Consume now pay later.
If you want it now there's nothing stopping you having it now.
I remember 18 year olds getting credit to purchase the new Japanese motorbikes that were flooding the country... mostly Honda.
It was a time when you could walk out of one job and into another with virtually no questions asked so the credit companies risks were minimal.

So true Jack. I think it was a much better time to live than now. Everyone helped eachother, no theft, everyone worked for their valuables and were happy.

Car is still in the garage, that's nearly three weeks.
The windae wipers aren't working and what with it being Christmas and now needed a new part it will be another week.
😞

I suspect mostly all this 'inflation' is greed. The whole world seems hinge on it now, from money to ego to stuffing your face until you're obese. It's hateful.

Irritations...
I pay for an Adguard ad remover, and have never had problems.
A couple of days ago Windows 10 updated, and since then I am getting an annoying ad at the top of my inbox emails....and I can't get rid. It changes from one ad to the other, there is no way to delete it.
Adguard dont seem to know how to fix it, even though I have sent them a photo.

How did it go Mags?
Garages and vets are extortionate.
The vet wants to clean Shorty's teeth, she only has wee tiny choppers (Shorty not the vet) and there is nothing wrong with them.

That reminds me of the time Ty joined a Dementia help forum. She claimed her mother had started with the disease (probably lying) anyway....she got banned.

Many people, and I think Vita is amongst them, love their dogs as much as others love their children.
So...if someone comes up to a mum and says their kid is fat or ugly, I can see where chaos would reign.
Every child is precious to a mother, and every pet is precious to the owner.
