It's now reckoned that in England one in 75 people now have the virus.
Is it me or do the figures not add up?
The vaccine is working it's magic otherwise thousands a day would be dying in the UK now.
The vaccine is limiting deaths so far that's true, but when we are told that 40% of people unwell enough to be admitted to hospital with the virus have already been vaccinated....that's a worrying statistic.

BoJo has said that the vaccine gives you around 90%. That is if you are fit and healthy.
If you have underlying health conditions then that percentage drops considerably!

Both of you make very good points - either way I think we may just have to place restrictions again soon if things continue to deteriorate.

It's not when you consider why they are in hospital. Turns out one 50 guy who died had a damaged spleen and low immunity, and also quite a few are in their late 70s and 80s. The majority who are dying now are unvaccinated. You have to remember that the virus isn't the killer....it's your own immune system's response. This is why it's vital to eat the right food, and look after your body, particularly the liver because your liver is the most important organ in your body, and THE front line defence against infection. It really is the seat of the immune system and it's damaged by poor diet, obesity, booze and drugs.

People just need to be more aware, and keep the hygiene precautions ramped up. I won't be going the pub any time soon, or anywhere else where there are crowds indoors or outdoors. The time isn't right.

I buy Boots anti viral foam, the one you mentioned ages ago.
I have one in the car, one in my bag, plus hand wipes...and I use them all the time.
I also try to stay away from busy indoor areas, not so bothered about outdoors.

I think this belongs in here - I had never heard of Benjamin Jesty before but as they say history is written by the winners and in this case it was Jenner.
Daily world death toll up above 10,000 again and rising sharply.
Billions of people in the poorer nations are absolutely desperate to be vaccinated - I wonder what argument the anti-vaxxers would counteract that with?

In town today and not only did most people (usually young blokes trying to be 'hard') on public transport and in shops not wear a mask but I got a load of odd looks for wearing one because I am doing my duty to try and not spread the virus.
Well fuck them.

Yes Diggs and Syl I think you are sensible ladies to continue to wear masks. Also it is selfish not to really
It has cheered me up to have a bit more freedom but I am still careful. Hope you are both well x

Thanks, I am well....whoever is asking, hope you are well too.
I agree about the selfishness of people who A....refuse to be vaccinated, and B...refuse to wear a mask in closed in spaces like public transport or shops.

Over a 100 people a day are still dying here yet most people seem to think it's over.

The death rate is rising again, which was predicted after all the restrictions were lifted.
It's definately not over, I doubt it will be over for the forseeable.
Youngsters 16 to 18 can now be vaccinated.
Parental approval wont be needed.

131 dead in the last 24 hours, God knows what it would have been without the vaccination program.
On another note I simply cannot feel sorry for people who are so willfully stupid.

An excellent article on the origins of the virus.
