The death rate is rising again, which was predicted after all the restrictions were lifted. It's definately not over, I doubt it will be over for the forseeable. Youngsters 16 to 18 can now be vaccinated. Parental approval wont be needed.
Indeed.
I like your avatar - what a beautiful animal and unique - exactly what I though before I shot it.
It's people like you who caused extinction to the unicorn.
Almost...the one in my avi still exists.

Had my first outing since Feb 2020.
Nice meal a bottle of vino. Always wanted to try a expresso martini, and had 2,
After reading about that couple that had had both jabs and died of covid
after self isolating I thought stop being scared and get out there.

75% or thereabouts of the adult population here have been double jabbed, at present, till it's decided whether booster jabs will be necessary, thats the best we can hope for.
We still wear masks and wash our hands with the anti-viral foam when we are out, we tend to pick places where we can eat out rather than in, apart from that we are just getting on with life as we did pre covid now.

Exponential rise in cases and deaths in the US again - almost all because of the anti-vaxxers being very stupid and very, very selfish.
I hope they are happy with themselves.

The government has passed the Health and Social Care Act 2008, obliging care homes to ensure (almost) all workers are vaccinated against Covid-19. The Covid Regulations, which only apply to England, come in to force on 11 November 2021.
About time too.

Hopefully more places of work will follow.
No one can be forced to have the jab, which is as it should be, people have rights, and that includes employers.
Why should they employ people with far more potential to catch and pass on a deadly disease when they could employ people with more sense?

New research has found that the vaccine protection starts to wear off after 6 months, so boosters will be necessary for the foreseeable.
This is disappointing news, but I hope people will just get the top ups as and when.

Rises all over the world again due to lack of vaccines, but exponentially in the US simply due Anti-vaxx /MAGA/Evangelical Christian bubba type morons - Darwinism in action.
Poor Fauci must simply despair.
Nearly 174 deaths here yesterday as well - I don't think many people care anymore, again when out in town on Monday hardly anyone was wearing a mask in shops apart from me, not even on public transport.

Figures here have shown that 50% of people are wearing masks on trams, around 30% on trains, and 20% on buses.
We went to Wales yesterday, it's still mandatory there to wear face coverings inside public places, and from what I saw most people did so.

Many carers are leaving their jobs (as are nurses and other medical professionals) because of the vaccine, it is already in crisis due to staff shortages
Maybe the healthy retired can go and help the relatives care for them.
Care workers and 'emotionally wrecked' managers speak out about 'no job no jab' policy
People might feel differently if the vaccine worked as they thought it was going to work, but it doesn't. vaccinated are just as at risk as the unvaccinated( both have a very similar viral load) How many boosters are you prepared to have? it's ok if you didn't feel unwell but many people felt very unwell for a week or two with both jabs, They won't be wanting two boosters a year. Many have not had the 2nd jab because of how ill the 1st made them.
The moment you say no to a booster, you then become part of the dirty anti-vaxers brigade

The vaccinated are not just as much at risk as the unvaccinated. Millions more would have died or been seriously ill without the vaccination programme.
It is disappointing that after 6 months the vaccination gradually loses effect (still offers more protection than not being vaccinated though) but as booster jabs will be offered I don't really see a problem.
I am hoping it will be given alongside the yearly flu jab.....and why would anyone refuse the booster if they had the sense to have the first 2 jabs?
A tiny proportion of people have felt 'very unwell for a week or two with both jabs', most feel no ill effects, some get chills or feel unwell for 12 to 24 hours, a small price to pay for either not getting Covid and needing hospital care or dying....or even worse, killing someone else because you were too selfish to have the jab when it was offered.

Absolute nonsense - millions of lives have been saved around the world due to the dedication and sheer hard work of the scientists who developed the various vaccines.
Oh and there is a reason a tiny minority feel unwell after the vaccine - it means it's working.
