Going to roast a pork loin joint for tea. I find pork to be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it's delicious, other times not so much.

I should think that like most wild meat, you'd have to be careful about cooking it right.
Wild meat is what we are supposed to eat as domestic meat is more of man made experiment.
What you have to be careful about is handling wild game after it's killed. Especially if it's warm outside..
What most people do with wild game is cook it too long..Generally wild animals have very little fat and don't need to be cooked as long. That's why some people are turned off by venison. Some fool cooks it until it's shoe leather..
I've never eaten game of any kind. It doesn't appeal to me.
It's the original food source.
What about fish? Surely you have had wild caught salmon?
Wild salmon is very very expensive over here. I mean meat not fish. The gamey taste? Yuk.
It's a little more expensive over here but when you see it next to farm raised fish, you can tell the difference.
I would say a most venison taste similar to lamb. It has that same smell too before it's cooked.

That looks way too greasy for me. And before you ask, I’m not keen on duck meat either - apart from the duck with tamarind sauce dish served at a local Thai restaurant.
Ate out a few times last week. Some simple comfort food tonight…spaghettini al pesto + cherry tomato and chives salad on the side + something Netflix = me time 😎
To me, most birds that fly a lot have a weird taste, but I don't know why people say they are greasy. They are all dark meat because they use their breast muscles to fly. Waterfowl have a bit of a livery taste. If they eat fish (like swans), they will have a fishy taste..
That's probably why they have never been raised domestically for food..They probably taste like a pelican and no one really wants to eat those..

The winter food is coming out. So tonight we are having braised steak, onions and carrots...with baby potatoes boiled in skins.
It'll be in the oven fr around 5 hours, so no need to put the heating on either...win win.

We went out for lunch, so I don't want a big tea.
The easiest one ever....open a tin of red salmon, chop an onion, add vinegar, bread and butter, glass of wine ... sorted.
