The jokes (not that they are really funny) dont offend me, but they obviously do offend millions of Catholics. Personally, I don't see the point of deliberately upsetting people when they are deeply religious....what's the benefit?
We could extend that to why offend anyone for any beliefs?
What a fun world that would be.
Let's be honest, the Pope is basically the head of state for the Catholic church. As a head of state like Trump or Starmer, he's fair game.
And again, for like the 5th time on this thread, nothing personal was implied about the late Pope anyway..
It's what the pope stands for, that's what's being made fun of.
Free speech and expression are great, but sometimes, when you know it's going to deeply upset or offend...what's the point?

I don't know whats worse. Trump devotion or Trump derangement syndrome.

Exactly that Thank you!
But it’s like the guy I quoted up there ^^ said: He thinks ‘trolling is governance’.

There’s also the lousy timing of that ridiculous stunt. It’s barely been a week since the dumbfuk slept through Pope Francis’ funeral, ffs.
People are still mourning his loss, so why the need to crap all over that? 🤷🏻♀️

For the record, if Chuck passes on I'm available for that gig, assuming Trump doesn't leap frog ahead of me..
Lol - you what?
How is Islamists killing citizens to enforce an unwritten blasphemy code even remotely similar to thinking your President is a criminally unfunny wing nut for his lame meme?

Well, the timing would have been stupid if the position wasn't vacant..
Trump gets tired of stupid questions.
He was asked by a reporter who he wanted as the next Pope.
He could have said "how in the fuck should I know", buy instead he said he'd like to be Pope.
Of course that set people off and he doubled down with the pic.
And they went off again..
Predictably..

It's similar because people are over reacting based on someone poking a little fun over a religious institution..
Trump knows how to push buttons. He's a master at it and people keep falling for it over and over and over. It gets them to a state of absolute apoplexy. You can almost hear him sitting there saying....it's like dynamiting fish.

The point of trolling is to get an over reaction from people that don't like you.
Is trolling presidential? Not to the extent he does it, but you'd think by now folks would understand how he operates..

If we want to worry about real issues and not silly memes, here's a real one.
If Trump is good at anything it’s trolling…he posts they bite, the more they bite the more he trolls. Give him his due he knows his SM market.

A BBC interview with Biden was broadcast this morning.
He obviously appeared to be losing it in the last months of his presidency, but when he sat down answering the journalists questions, he seems to be a lot more coherent than the oaf that's in power now. He sounds incredibly weak, but certainly not confused.

It was likely early in the day and he had already been given all of the questions well beforehand..

So what? I think that's pretty standard for a lot of interviews. It was he who answered...he wasn't prompted.

It's not standard and old people with the beginning of dementia do much better in the morning..
Trump is an asshole, and often misinformed but he's sharp and will take answers in any setting. There is no comparison between him and Biden in that department.

That's your opinion.
Biden is slow in speech and movement, but dementia affects people differently, and Trump, to me, shows all the signs of someone suffering from a mental condition, whether it's age related...who knows?

If only half of this is accurate...he isn't that 'sharp'.

Yes but, Diggs, he’s not starring in a Broadway production, and the Oval Office is not the set of his ’The Apprentice’ reality TV show.
Do you think it’s unreasonable for Americans to expect a more mature attitude and better judgment from their president?

😳 Sharp? Seriously, MD, you think he’s sharp? He has a lizard-brain cunning, I’ll give him that. But he truly is staggeringly stupid.
As a couple of people on X said recently:
’It’s very important to remember that Trump knows absolutely nothing about literally everything. It’s an amazing feat to live nearly 80 years and be impervious to even a scintilla of human knowledge.’
and…. ‘I don't think it's fully appreciated just how much Trumpism is a celebration of ignorance. Trump not only never learns but proactively avoids it. It's a braindead movement from the top down.’
