We can include Christmas songs on here if you like.
Very sensibly, my local radio station refuses to play Christmas songs till 1st December, and I only listen in the morning for an hour or two.
So far I haven't heard this one played yet It's a Christmas classic, and it keeps the memory of the lovely Kirsty MacColl's talent alive.
I've got a few fav Xmas songs, this one is right up there. Brilliant.
Hate the way the woke cut out the word faggot for God's sake, nothing wrong with that word over here.
I know, people used different terminology that was accepted back then, it's rewriting history changing lyrics and words in songs and books.
I think I remember reading Elvis Costello had rewritten some of his old lyrics in his old songs because they were now considered no longer PC.
Absolutely crazy Syl 🤐
How do you feel now, hopefully better xx
Nope...I dont feel ill really , just a horrendous snotty cold and sore throat.
We are away for a few day on Friday, I am keeping fingers crossed it doesn't get worse....I doubt I will be doing any swimming or anything else that entails using much energy.
Oh that's a shame. Colds take so.long to shift.
Go away and rest, but also do nice things but don't over do it.
Sending healing to you x

Thanks Mags, it's just a winter bug that's doing the rounds here, a couple of neighbours have it too.

Well I'm ready for Christmas. Pressies wrapped, and turkey and meats in the freezer.
Making mince pies next week. 😃
Never been so much in front of myself. Now no queues, rushing to get last.minute pressies. Just do all my visits to friends and family before the big day, lovely. 😌

The Supremes and Martha and the Vandellas were brilliant, and I had a girl crush on Ronnie of the Ronettes, I thought she was very beautiful when I was a kid. This is another classic Christmas song from the 60's.

^ I think it would make for a good comeback genre to have proper black girl groups again, like the ones you mentioned - with the harmonising, choreography and long dresses.
The Chiffons were another good girl group, but I don't think they made any Xmas records
Black girls now seem to be more into that fat-arsed booty shaking stuff, with drum & bass, dubstep, grime etc.

Yep...celebrating their bulk and wriggling their cellulite about doesn't have the same appeal as the classy black girl groups of old.

Leave Beyonce out of this. 😎
Speaking of chubby chick's, Lizzo has dropped a bunch of weight. She's still overweight, but I applaud her efforts.
Seems that since we have discovered ozempic, healthy at any size is no longer the mantra of heavy people. It was always an excuse not a legitimate explanation of obesity..

Yep, the huge people who boasted that they loved being massive, oddly are now shrinking.

I loved George Micheal, and this Christmas song was very underrated in my opinion....it's one of my favourites.

Watched this earlier, impressive…gift wrapping, using just one piece of cello tape. I’m going to have to slo-mo the video to practice.

That's great, and it would save the receiver needing a knife and scissors to get into the pressie I have wrapped.
Looks easy but I would still muck it up.
I'm the worst wrapper, so much so, my hub does all the wrapping.
How about gift bags? Easy enough to make and far easier than trying to wrap irregular shaped pressies. YouTube has hundreds of tutorials.
Yes I use them for smaller pressies also on birthdays too. Much easier for me.
He could be singing 'Please marry dad'.
We don't mess around with our Christmas presentations..
