Scrambled egg on toast for me today. I’m not particularly fussed on eggs so will add grated cheese, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and onions to hide the taste I’m making an effort to have more, daily, protein in my diet, chicken and fish I enjoy but eggs…
Think of me when you’re tucking into your tasty meals.

I have the veggie option,.lots of fresh veg and mashed and roasted potatoes.

Ooh lovely. It's a very British thing to go out for a carvery lunch or dinner, pretty reasonable prices too in most places.
Oh I'm full.up having all the veggies, yum. Had a lovely dinner. Doubt we will want tea tonight

Isn't that just basically a buffet?

It's not a buffet per ce, it's veggie, meats etc. A buffet here is cold food like at parties etc.
That looks like the typical lunch buffet at every med hotel we have stayed in ... very tasty.
A carvery here is a typical roast dinner, usually a server will slice the meats of choice and serve pigs in blankets, then pick your own yorkshire pudding, pot, veg, gravy, etc.

Gotcha we have something like that where there's a dude in a tall hat slicing turkey, ham or prime rib, but you don't see those as often as we used too..
For tea tonight...grandsons are one fiancé are coming round. I am making my one and only Christmas dinner this year, we are out for most of the festive meals....so I seem to be having it easy at long last.
I never buy turkey, it's too dry, so I will roast chicken breasts, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts, carrots, roast sweet potatoes and gravy and apple sauce. chocolate log or mince pies and cream to follow.

This was at a place down the street. I generally just put olive oil and basalmic vinegar on salads..

A right mish mash tonight as we've been out visiting family all day. Thai chicken soup, hot smoked salmon and stollen.

Here is a buffet I hit once a week or so..
Maybe this will work better?

He would rather starve.

Speaking of Chinese buffets.........🙄
🫣 Holy crap! Did someone grab the last Wontons?
Black Cow Pies Matter
I just grin when I watch these large folks belly up to the all you can eat Chinese buffet while the Asian employees give that cold blank stare..
I still vividly remember a time when a woman filled two plates, then sent her kid up the buffet to get a plate of about 5 dinner rolls..
I'll bet she parked in the handicap spot too.
Ensalada con pollo.
