Lifting weights just two or three times a week can significantly change the trillions of bacteria living in your gut, and it might happen in as little as eight weeks.
That's according to a recent study – not yet peer-reviewed – finding that previously inactive people who began resistance training showed notable changes in their gut microbiome, the community of microbes living in the digestive system.

If you or someone you know might have an exercise addiction, a mental health professional can help you address your feelings and provide treatment options.

For men over 55, completing 20 to 24 push-ups without stopping places you in excellent shape. Reaching 25 or more demonstrates superior upper-body strength and endurance, ranking you among the fittest for your age group. Women who can perform 15 to 20 consecutive push-ups display equally impressive power, showing the same muscle control and stamina as much younger adults. Consistency and form matter more than pure numbers: steady, well-executed reps always outperform rushed, sloppy ones.

@ Dawg… saw this and figured you’d have something to say about it 😉

I've almost managed three but I'm happy to see that pure numbers don't matter.

There's different kinds of running..Distance running at a.slow pace is better than sitting on your ass but you really need some higher intensity training..
Like Jumping rope, burpees or sprinting.
I try to walk to a local school at least twice a week and do some sprints on the track. I get a 3 mile walk in, and my heart rate way up for a few minutes..
I also realize how much eccentric strength we lose as we age and why older people look silly when they try to run..
I feel like a baby giraffe wobbling out there on my sprints..

Speaking of eccentric strength, falls are responsible for 90% of accidental deaths over 75 and eccentric (as opposed to concentric) strength prevents falls..

My first post (and many others) was about Dr Attia.
15-20 years ago the only non drinkers I knew abstained for religious reasons. Now I know plenty of people that have given it up completely for health reasons..

I did a lot of the 10/10 last week.
Walking with a weighted vest? 😎
I did a little dancing Saturday night.
I need to do more walking. The old knee is giving me issues.
We danced to a stylistics tribute band....they were as good as the real thing, and back in the day they were one of my favourite groups.
