In an interesting development it appears both congress people from Minnesota voted to end healthcare benefits for illegal aliens in Minnesota.
They crossed party lines and joined Republicans on Monday's vote.

Ā We should know definitively at some point as the shooter's political manifesto, along with the name of other lawmakers being targeted, was found in his (police!) car at the scene. This sounds like something more sophicated than a random nutter, possibly a terrorist attack?Ā
I see a lot of MAGA influencers have come straight out of the gate blaming "far left" people and calling Democrats "scum." These people are a curse, without any sense of the harm they cause.Ā

Ā Yeah, fair point. Some people will end up believing what they want to believe, irrespective of the facts.
We've had political killings here targeting both sides of the political spectrum but to our credit our political parties united to say it was completely unacceptable and find a route through. I hope the same is true in the US because it is a really bad sign.Ā

On another note, I've been watching protest videos and pics. And just like the last one, the most prominent demographic appears to be older white people and specifically older white women.
Protests used to be dominated by young folks.
Maybe the younger folks think viral protests are more effective?

US immigration authorities last year deported the largest number of undocumented immigrants in nearly a decade, surpassing the record of Donald Trump's first term in office.
More than 271,000 immigrants were deported from the US over the last fiscal year, according to a report released by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency on Thursday.
The ICE report comes just weeks before President-elect Trump, who plans to make mass deportation a cornerstone of his incoming administration, takes office.
President Joe Biden in 2021 had pledged to pause deportations, but his administration ended up expanding it following a surge in border crossings.
This is basically Joe's fault..He shamed Trump by beating his deportation record and now Trump wants the title back.

Ā Is there a source for that?
If it turns out to be true, it would very likely be the end of Walzās political career.
Edit to add: suspect identified as Vance Boelter. He owns/owned a security services company. That goes some way to explain the fake police SUV and flashing emergency lights, and the fake police uniform/badge.

Ilove watching military parades in general for the energy, pride and discipline so Iāve just caught up with a little of the US military parade - 250th anniversary of the US Army on Trumpās birthdayā¦to say I was underwhelmed is an understatement.
Ā
He seems to love the UK pomp and ceremony and was really impressed with a Bastille Day parade a while back so Iām wondering what he thought of this parade. Considering the might of US military, 250 years being quite a celebratory achievement for the US (the UK has pubs older) and at a cost of, rumoured, approxĀ Ā $45million I suppose was I expecting more. I watched a bit of the US military parade yesterday, and also noticed how out of step many of the soldiers were.
But seeing Trump stood there like a bloody puffer fish, his wife like as stiff as a mannequin, looking frozen (probably with fear) beside him....and him obviously thinking the whole thing was in his honour....5 minutes was enough.

Ā I managed a bit longer than 5 minutes but not much.
āĀ I said, yeah, we do. We want to show off a little bit. You know, recently other countries celebrated the victory of World War I. France was celebrating, really. They were all celebrating. The only one that doesn't celebrate is the USA, and we're the ones that won the war. Without us, you'd all be speaking German right now, maybe a little Japanese thrown in. But we won the war and we don't celebrate, but we're going celebrate with a parade on Saturday and we're going to celebrate -- from now on, we're going to celebrate our greatness and our achievements.ā
