I feel more sorry for their military. Brave men who have been made a national joke, thanks to that buffoon.
The army personnel who took part are being hailed as heroes all over social media. Folks are convinced they deliberately tried to sabotage the whole event. Ex-service members/military experts are saying the army does not usually perform ceremonial marching in such an undisciplined way. Right from the first weeks of bootcamp, they’re trained to do it right.
My theory is most of them were massively pissed off at having to take weekend time away from their families - especially on Father’s Day - to pander to trump’s vanity birthday thing.
I’ve seen practically zero mocking or disrespecting the army 😊 People are just laughing at trump’s humiliation.

Was that the millennium Falcon that poor soldier was holding aloft? ...it certainly looked like it.

That was some horrific marching, but after watching these folks for years, I have a pretty high bar.
There was a small unit of Aggies at Trump's parade, but it's summer so most students are not available..

Ilove watching military parades in general for the energy, pride and discipline so I’ve just caught up with a little of the US military parade - 250th anniversary of the US Army on Trump’s birthday…to say I was underwhelmed is an understatement.
He seems to love the UK pomp and ceremony and was really impressed with a Bastille Day parade a while back so I’m wondering what he thought of this parade. Considering the might of US military, 250 years being quite a celebratory achievement for the US (the UK has pubs older) and at a cost of, rumoured, approx $45million I suppose was I expecting more. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many march out of step for example. I know the likes of Trooping of the Colour etc has had centuries of experience but blimey…
If this was aimed at showing the world then I’m afraid it failed miserably.
Yeah, these are my exact thoughts as well.
I watched about 15 minutes of the parade on CNN before I got bored and turned it off. The whole thing was just a little...sad.
The clip of the tanks with squeaky wheels going past empty bleachers was also more than a little embarassing.

Too funny. It was like something out of “Dad’s Army”.
How long before he claims his parade was a roaring success, and the envy of the world.

@ Dawg…. ok, now THAT was seriously impressive! Unbelievably faultless coordination, especially given the number of kids participating.
Thanks for sharing it.

While my middle daughter wasn't in band, she was in the Corps there so she did the big block T at the end of that video..
She also could march, but joined the calvary outfit so she could ride into the stadium and in parades around the country.
Riding > matching..😉
Now these guys aren't Marines, but are actually The Fish Drill Team, also students at Texas A&M..

So Trump has published a notice telling the 17 million population of Tehran to evacuate the city. The guy's crazy and a total liability!

Last parade thing from me - promise!
But just to point out that even in a place tRump (rightly) calls a ‘shithole country’, cash-strapped Iran manages to outshine the debacle we saw on Saturday.
Tbf though, I guess that the risk of servicemen getting their cadence wrong could result in them ending up in an Iranian death camp, is a huge motivating factor!

Sunday night I was teasing a buddy who's in the Navy about how the Navy wasn't getting a parade and he clearly stated he didn't want a fucking parade..We then discussed how the N Koreans were the best at marching, because death was the penalty for a poor performance..

The Marines celebrate every year. It's a big deal to them. Not with parades, but they have a Marine Corp Ball, they get drunk and fight, lol .

In these ‘will-he-won’t-he?’ cliffhanger days of trump’s Reality TV show presidency, what do folks think about the possibility of trump finally deciding to weigh in and help his buddy, Bibi, win his war with Iran?
I, of course, could write a whole blog post about what I think. But I’ll just say this…
- A woefully stupid, capricious, malignant narcissist - with zero awareness of the relevant history within the region - makes him the worst POTUS imaginable at the worst possible time.
- A clueless, day drinking, swaggering high T, former Fox News weekend host, who’s clearly completely out of his depth, in charge at the Pentagon and the world’s largest military.
If trump goes ahead, what could possibly go wrong…? 🤦🏻♀️

…. and ps … IMO, this - in a nutshell
(seen on X): It took Netanyahu 29 years, but he finally found an American president who was itchingto go to war with him against Iran.
Will this get you past almost? 😉

When even Boy Scouts do it better…
Fair dues though Trump did promise “an unforgettable celebration, one like you have never seen before…I don’t think we’ve ever done one quite like this” https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114634223801183343

“ The Navy and Marine Corps will return to their birthplace in Philadelphia this fall for the national celebration of their 250th anniversaries.” https://www.legion.org/information-center/news/honor/2025/may/philadelphia-to-host-epic-250th-birthday-bash-for-navy-marine-corps. with not a Trump in sight, although credit will be taken no doubt.
