Poor calf escaped from his field and what do the police do?
They run straight at him in their car and send him flying down the street.
Never seen such cruelty in a long time.
The calf was not charging at people, he was walking down the street minding his own business.
Why couldn't they have got a vet or a farmer?
They couldn't be bothered that's why!!
A calf is large enough to kill someone if they hit it with their car.
A Texas rancher would use his truck to push the calf back down the street to where it came from. Or at least push it off the road where it can be contained..

I was so sad to see this for the calf, but oh so angry at the police! Two fecking cars! Disgusting!
That poor calf. A vet could have used a tranquilizer dart and then he could have been transported back to the field.
Yes they should be sacked, bastards!
I see he's been suspended, well I hope he gets sacked.
The owners of Lucy the cow think she might die because of the shock.
The police are what they used to be.
A relation of mine joined the police last year, 4ft 10in
It's absurd!!
We killed ourselves laughing at the film 'Police Academy ' it's true to life now.
I don't want to spoil the outrage, but a farmer says they probably did the right thing at the time
Of course they did the right thing. How do people think ranchers get large, stupid, stubborn animals to move to where they want them?
Walk them on a lead?
No need to be facetious Madders!!
Nobody is suggesting walking them on leads, just not running them over.
They didn't run them over. They rammed them in a vehicle smaller than a bull.

Should have called these guys.
No doubt someone who hasn't ever done anything with a cow other than look at pictures of one, would find this abusive too.

Calfs don't "deserve" anything.
It needed to be moved.
It got moved and the public was not harmed.
Mission accomplished..

No people there and the calf was just standing, not rampaging. Should have got a vet to drug it. Hope the cop or cops are fired.

Rammed/run over it's the same thing.
It was nasty and unnecessary.

Why drug it?
Do your police have vets on call??
I imagine it's like here. After hours, there is no animal control. The cops deal with loose animals that are a threat. And a cow in the road is a threat, even if it's just standing there.
This cow is no longer a threat. It's fine and back home where it can be killed and eaten soon.

Vet could have been called! The animal was standing, not running amok. Pity our police don't treat knife killers the same!

Do you really want to start treating people like animals?
When do we start eating each other?

Animals behave a lot better than some of us! Why shouldn't animals be given the same kindness and compassion we give to people?

Because they are animals. Do you want to start having after school programs for lizards?.
Or perhaps all livestock and pets should be turned loose and released from slavery?
The best thing we can do for animals is not to anthropomorphise them. Stop acting like 5 year olds watching The Lion King.
Manage their habitats, protect the species in general, but stop treating them like they are furry or scaled humans.

A Scottish woman went for a wizz and found a rat in the toilet.
There's a big problem in Glasgow with rats because the bins don't get emptied as often as they should.
I was speaking to the ratman last year and he said I wouldn't get rats because Shorty is a ratter and they would be too feart to come near the house.
