It's new to me too Mags, but the parcel started off as second class Royal Mail, and ended up arriving by a courier service I have never heard of....10 days later, and it only came from Yorkshire.
Grrrr.
Been away, come home got a bloody parking ticket from last week at the hospital. There were no parking places, so parked my car in an empty part, between spaces, no yellow lines. Others were there. Put my blue badge up. I couldn't keep driving around until someone left, I would have lost my appointment.
I thought with a badge I would be ok. Nope, got a bloody ticket through the post
How annoying, did you not have a parking fine sticker on your car? Maybe it's all done via CCTV at hospitals.
We have had 2 in the last few weeks. Contested one and failed, just paid the other. £70 down the spout.

No, just a photo of my car. I thought they had to issue a ticket. I've appealed, but.not holding my breath.

Well I got all excited when I saw my email message yesterday and was busy planning what I would spend my winnings on...
Has anyone else seen Cressida Gethin's mummy complaining that wee Cressida is going to miss her brother's wedding because the poor wee mite is in prison?
Cressie was one of the 'Just stop oil' twats jailed last week for bringing chaos to the M25 and caused people to miss funerals, exams and hospital appointments.

Good! Maybe she will think again before trying anymore stunts.

My mum won £10 on the postcode lottery yesterday Mags, here's hoping the next win is the big one.
Talking of the aforementioned mother, she is 80 next month and keeps grilling me about banners, balloons and surprise parties.

Oh and it's my Aunt's 80th birthday four days before my mother's.
Which incidentally is also the anniversary of my Granny's death.
My Granny died on her daughter's birthday.

It's odd how that often happens, my dad died on my birthday.

I was sitting outside Starbucks yesterday, OH was inside ordering. The table had been cleared but not cleaned. I always carry anti viral wipes (since Covid) so got one out and cleaned the table. The lady sitting at a nearby table said she does exactly the same.
Why cant waiting staff wipe a table down after they have moved the used pots? It's not rocket science.
This happens more times than I can count, and yes...it belongs in the 'Irritation' thread.

That was my dad's mum.
Another one was my mum's parents.
My Granda phoned and ordered my Gran flowers for her birthday the next day and didn't tell her so they would be a surprise.
Then dropped dead a few hours later and my Gran got the flowers the next day.
It freaked her out a bit.
Had your dad been ill, Syl.
Neither of my Grandparents had.

That's so sad about your Grandparents, Vita, sudden deaths like that must come as a huge shock.
My dad had cancer I believe, he was only in his 50's. He left when I was young so I hadn't seen him for many years.
I was pregnant at the time, I wasn't told he had died on my birthday till my son was born 2 weeks later (he was overdue, and should have been born on my birthday...which would have been ironic)

It was a huge shock at the time Syl but my other two grandparents both ended up in geriatric hospitals and died terrible deaths so maybe going suddenly was better.
It would have been nice if your son had been born on your birthday, a double celebration.

I was listening to a Dr talking once. He said though no one wants to get an aggressive disease like cancer, when you are old, it's often a better ending than spending years with no quality of life because either your health or your mind has gone...I think he had a point.

I was walking down the street with Shorty when a cat appeared from nowhere and started chasing us.
Knowing Westies are Ratters by nature and vicious little gits when pushed, I was worried a fight would break out, so grabbed her and ran.
Believe me...running with a small dog is not easy!!

Virgin media have given all customers Premier Sports for free for August.
Only they didn't bother telling us and I only found out yesterday and just in the nick of time because my lads Rangers were playing last night in Europe.
The game was in Poland, safety reasons, cause the opposition are from Ukraine.

Big Cyriel got the equaliser in the 94th minute.
