I was attacked ten minutes ago in the kitchen, it was most distressing.
I had placed my housecoat over the kitchen table and when I put it back on there was a tickling at my neck.
Bloody big Tarantula had crawled up the sleeve.
I have placed it in the garden, still alive of course.
I wouldn't kill it, I don't mind spiders.
I just don't like them about my person.
Good for you, spiders are hated by so many for no reason at all.

The reason some people hate spiders is they are so scared of them they panic, and I swear if one was on my neck I would have a heart attack and possibly die, so to say there is no reason to hate them isn't strictly true.

There is a reason, it's just not a rational one, at least not for native British spiders but still. It's hard to explain just how visceral the response is to one from an arachnaphobe. Mind I've always managed to deal with spider situations humanely. Because whatever my feelings towards them they have there place in nature and are just trying to get by so I can at least do that but like digger said if one was on me I'd probably drop dead.
Snakes, lizards frogs etc bring it on I luv em, but anything with more than four legs and my primal instincts go into overdrive.

Vicky will be talking about one of the various Tegenaria species ('house spiders') the big, fast running long legged ones that terrify those with arachnophobia (even though they are actually harmless).

Oh mate, the truth is I could probably more likely handle a tarantula than your average large british house spider, it's the speed they move at. Brrrrrrr. My worst nightmare are huntsman spiders big and quick moving.

Giant Huntsmen are so fast it's almost like they teleport!
Only discovered in 2001 Heteropoda maxima from Laos is an archnophobe's worst nightmare at over 30 cm in leg span and moves like shit off a shovel!

I understand Syl I just wish more people could overcome their fears because it would be much better for them and the spiders. X

Not sure - I am no techno wizard DS - just the opposite in fact - perhaps someone else on here with more knowledge can help?

I may have exaggerated slightly Doc, just a tiddler really.
Glasgow is nicer than Edinburgh, Edinbuggers are strange people and very tightfisted.
Do you know they put forks in the sugar bowls in their cafes.
Visit Glasgow!!

My two moggies sit either side of one, then skedaddle sideways along if it moves. First cats I've known that wont eat spiders.
They're like fat furry ballerinas hunting the flies though.
