Why even comment about being too proud to take the knee when good people are dying? There is no one who needs to take the knee for you, nothing has happened to you, your life is not in danger, you are not spat at and asked when you will be returning to the jungle. Historically if your ancestors were white they were safe and secure also.

I saw a programme once concerning the methadone programme in Scotland. They were waiting in line every morning causing trouble,drunk or drugged up. locals wanted the programme stopped because all the "layabout druggies" as they were called were making life unbearable in their town centre,
You already know the punchline. These hundreds of methadone takers were all white. So does that mean every white person in Scotland is a druggie then? Is every white person stopped by the police in Scotland even if they are simply sitting, reading a book? No, of course not.
I will not have the old drug taking stereotype trotted out as an excuse for police brutality and murder. It's an excuse. Police should only stop and search if they have proof of wrongdoing and skin colour, I'm afraid is not an excuse.

According to police reports the man was acting suspiciously, he had a loaded gun on his person, ammunition all over the back seat of the car. His wife claimed he had never owned a gun, there was evidence he had bought one two weeks before and they had argued about it.
Like I said there are two sides to every story.
I am not saying black people in AMERICA....not here, are killed by the police, or treated unfairly because of their colour, it's obvious that they are, and no one has ever doubted George Floyd was murdered by a vicious cop, who seemingly had past history with him.
I am not stopping any truths from being known....carry on. Just check facts before you post, and Twitter really isn't the font of all knowledge to base your claims on.

I never defended the killings in the US (although you seem to believe everything you read on Twitter and there are often two sides to every story as Syl said above), and I might be wrong but I thought I lived in the UK.

It is still a glaring example of racism, but not all were murders.
People who were not killed were still arrested or blackmailed due to skin colour alone. A black lady was arrested for reading a book. Do you fear that will happen to you?
It was only a quarter of the list. I may post the ones that are only murders if you feel it necessary, I know it is only my error not that the cases do not exist. If you want me to post only the racist deaths please respond and I shall, I will just check every case so it may be a while. I have always maintained they are deaths caused by American police brutality though.

I am simply tired of us being compared to America and for every incident to be blown up to epic proportions by the media, our coppers are nothing like some of the worst examples in the US and if the police are found to be in the wrong here then I will hold my hands up but they must be pretty confident they were justified as it was filmed.

These numbers seem large, but it is known that not all of the lynchings were ever recorded. Out of the 4,743 people lynched only 1,297 white people were lynched. That is only 27.3%. Many of the whites lynched were lynched for helping the black or being anti lynching and even for domestic crimes.
California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming lynched more whites than blacks.

The police in these US cities have actually been criticised for not tackling violent criminals due to the demonstrations for fear of being accused of racism - and now some are saying they were racist for not tackling the violent black/ethnic gang members and protecting the community more.

Yes, some black people take drugs but not all. White youngsters are in just as many gangs and take just as many drugs. It's almost as if you are defending all the deliberate racist killings in the US.
I saw a programme once concerning the methadone programme in Scotland. They were waiting in line every morning causing trouble,drunk or drugged up. locals wanted the programme stopped because all the "layabout druggies" as they were called were making life unbearable in their town centre,
You already know the punchline. These hundreds of methadone takers were all white. So does that mean every white person in Scotland is a druggie then? Is every white person stopped by the police in Scotland even if they are simply sitting, reading a book? No, of course not.
I will not have the old drug taking stereotype trotted out as an excuse for police brutality and murder. It's an excuse. Police should only stop and search if they have proof of wrongdoing and skin colour, I'm afraid is not an excuse.
Only one person in the list was not killed by police and that was Christian Cooper. One error. Every single other case is accurate.

All those people in the list except one died as a result of simply being black. One was a mass shooting at a black church, another a 6 year old child. You can find the original list which contains far more fatalities at Twitter JP which is well known enough I should hope.
I agree that it is the American police who are responsible for the wrongful deaths and they are far far more racist than us in the UK. We are far more fair and aware of equality due to education. I dont think anyone should be expected to take the knee here but nor should they be mocked or accused of attention seeking if they are.
It is because the racism by police is completely OTT in the States that the movement has become so successful, this latest death of George Floyd being the last straw, not the reason for the movement. According to police reports the man was acting suspiciously, he had a loaded gun on his person, ammunition all over the back seat of the car. His wife claimed he had never owned a gun, there was evidence he had bought one two weeks before and they had argued about it.
Like I said there are two sides to every story.
I am not saying black people in AMERICA....not here, are killed by the police, or treated unfairly because of their colour, it's obvious that they are, and no one has ever doubted George Floyd was murdered by a vicious cop, who seemingly had past history with him.
I am not stopping any truths from being known....carry on. Just check facts before you post, and Twitter really isn't the font of all knowledge to base your claims on.
They really are milking the incident for all it's worth.

I never defended the killings in the US (although you seem to believe everything you read on Twitter and there are often two sides to every story as Syl said above), and I might be wrong but I thought I lived in the UK.
Neither did I say all black people take drugs that is you putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5 in all your righteous woke glory.

No they're not, they are responding in a perfectly commensurate manner, in proportion to their distress.
They are both internationally known athletes so the story was widely reported second hand, everywhere, ...... it does not mean they were the ones ''milking it''.
Even the met themselves have now invited them to have a say in how the police are trained.

There are parallels between the US & UK ........ but the UK (and Europe in general) are far more advanced than the US. More progressive and more civilised than the US.
If perhaps you made your posts a bit briefer, guest - and more accurate of course - you will convey your message far more effectively.

I am simply tired of us being compared to America and for every incident to be blown up to epic proportions by the media, our coppers are nothing like some of the worst examples in the US and if the police are found to be in the wrong here then I will hold my hands up but they must be pretty confident they were justified as it was filmed.

Fair enough, I hope your softer side comes out in future, JD. Not just in racial issues but in how you relate to all your fellow human beings of all colours, races, creeds.
Tbf I've always found JD to be fair, and not at all biased. He retaliates like others do, when attacked, but I've always seen him as a nice man and poster. Whatever he was on other forums is of no importance here.

I don't have any 'racial issues' and never have done.
Everyone of all colours races and creeds should be treated equally, however in the recent past the UK authorities have deliberately looked the other way to avoid disturbing 'community relations' most notably the disgusting (and truly racist) Pakistani/Bangladeshi Muslim grooming gang scandals.
This feeds into resentment and the far right and does no one any good at all and I am also sick and tired of minority career criminals and their apologists justifying their behaviour by saying they are the victims of 'discrimination' as one drug dealer actually said on the news a while ago.
We actually have positive discrimination here in many of our institutions.
Scenes of the Brixton rioters taking great glee at attacking 'the feds' shows racism works both ways but that is never mentioned anymore at all in the media coverage as it's all so one sided.
We are just about the most tolerant and inclusive nation on earth (and always have been judging by the standards of the time) which is why it really annoys me when we being compared to the Deep South of America at the moment and are being made out to be one of the most intolerant places on earth - people want to take a look around the world to see what true discrimination and persecution really mean.
