Stuff like this? It is similar to the music the groups played that we used to see in little Manchester clubs back in the 60's, before Disco became popular. These places were where the likes of the Hollies, Kinks, Zombies, etc used to play for a few quid a night.
Most of the clubs were in old buildings or cellars, and kids as young as 15 were let in...no one asked for age identity in those days, and most of these places were not licenced anyway.

Yes, Lucinda falls in that category.
In the early days of rock (hence the term roots rock), Brits were covering a lot of our artists. Then later you had folks like the Stray Cats doing their own rockabilly, which falls under the Americana umbrella.

This really isn't my kinda of music, but the lyrics suggest that she's growing up and reflecting on youthful indiscretions, like most of us do.
For me, country music like this seems to have not changed for decades....it's a bit repetitious.
Plenty of its changed. There are even elements of rap and a heavy pop influence. People like her are trying to bring back a more traditional sound. And Bluegrass is a genere of country with a very traditional sound..

This is what most mainstream, modern country sounds like. It's fucking horrific.
Here you go Mags.
x
I think you are more country than anything else, judging by the vids you put up.
I know Shania Twaine was frowned on for leaving country and going more pop in her heyday, but some f her stuff was good imo.
This latest one where she teamed up with Anne Marie is catchy...and the video is good too.
Yeah, I like looking at Shania. She's a pop singer that sings some country-ish songs at times..
My musical tastes lean towards Americana, which doesn't really exist outside of the US as a category. It is influenced by country music..

I love her, she reminds me of the wild child every girl/woman wants to be, or wishes she had been...and she writes a lot of her own stuff too.
I have posted this one before, if it's not your kind of music, just watch the end when she dances with gay abandon...it's great.
I've always liked her raspy voice. I just don't like it coupled with pop music..
And I was far more entranced with her working out, than her dancing at the end. 😉
There are young people like Molly bringing back bluegrass music.
I'm always impressed with people that can take 100 year old instruments, without computers, and make great music.
She's one of our best guitar players and she's a baby..

Then there's this guy who was in the Navy a year or so ago, and made some youtube videos.
He just released a 16 song album and in one day, all 16 tracks made the top to of apple music.
It's insane..

His songs certainly touch a lot of people, judging by the comments.

And what happened to the YouTube link thingy?

Some music is just noise...and the YouTube thingy is still there.
