After being ill for a week and not going out, we braved the shops today.... BLOODY NIGHTMARE.
Why do people push and shove? I could have clocked a big overdressed woman who more or less shoved me out of the way so she could manhandle the fucking oranges.
I cant get any light up sparkly candles from anywhere, they are all sold out now...and the useless Sainsbury's assistant, refused to wrap my wine glasses up, she just thrust some blue paper roll at me, and told me that was all she had.
She had sat there looking bored whilst I unloaded over £100 worth of groceries....as if she couldn't have wrapped them for me while she waited.
Customer service....where??

I got up at 6am today and was in Marks and Spencers food hall by 7. It was blissfully empty as was Aldi. The added bonus was seeing that rainbow sky.

I had to go back to the shops yesterday because after checking my food order there was no...
Crisps
Cranberry Sauce
Trifle
Despite only being 8:30 am the place was heaving, lots of bargains though.
The festive dog treats were all reduced, so Shorty is most pleased.
I then popped in to drop off my Aunt and Uncle's presents, which was nice but also sad because they live in the same neck of the woods as my Gran and Granda did and I got thinking about all the Christmases we spent with them.
I'm going to watch the Steptoe and Son Christmas special now, my favourite programme!!
Aaaaaroold!!

Maw and Paw were going oot for their dinner last night with my brother and his wife and of course their taxi didn't turn up.
Twenty-five minutes they waited and then the Evri man arrived with a parcel for my neighbour and said he would take them.
Isn't that nice.

Apparently it was so busy in shops down in England yesterday, folk were being offered a fiver for their trolley!!
I wonder if it's the same in Glasgow, I might nip in!!

 It was hell.
I had to go out for buffet food for Boxing Day. Unbelievably, Sainsbury's had run out of chicken thighs, drumsticks, prawns, tins of chocolates, various bits and pieces I would have bought to put on a buffet table.
M&S was like a war zone....still no chicken thighs or drumsticks, it was blowing a gale and I still feel like shite.
For once, I was looking forwards to Christmas being over and done with, can't wait for a cozy New Year's Eve and day, just the two of us, time to relax and get over this horrible bug that's hanging on.
But NO....apparently I agreed months ago to be included in a fancy New Year's Eve dinner, which has all been booked.
The one highlight is my grandson is back home for a few days, so I will be seeing a lot of him, which will make up for everything else.Â
Yesterday wasn't bad...but
I had bought a great big Christmas shopping bag which I thought would come in handy and it did...until I tried to lift it and almost did my back in.
My father behaved himself but he did go about like a half shut knife.
🙄
Ahhh, but isn't it great to go shopping with your dad though? I used to love shopping with my mum, I miss it a lot.
Some of your phrases I have never heard of, but I can always work them out.  eventually.Â
Â
Sometimes I go to stop myself using Scottish expressions but use them and see if folk know what I'm on about.
I do love shopping with him and my mum, I do loads for them now but wouldn't have it any other way.
