My brother fell over and broke his hip. He's in a side ward in AnE, no beds, no many docs. 😤
Thankfully he's having a hip op in the morning. Couldn't be left.
I spoke to him but very groggy, they must have dosed him up. I was going to see him in the morning, but now he having op, I will let him sleep.

Easy for me to say, but try not to worry. He'll be up and about before you know it, then you can spoil him rotten.
My MIL amazed everyone when she broke her hip after a fall. The Dr's were reluctant to operate, fearing she might not make it through the anaesthetic, not only did she make it through, she recovered quicker than some of the women who were 30 years younger than her in hospital.
She was 100 years old, and lived another four years.

My brother had his op this morning. Been to see him, he was, a bit muddled, that's the drugs, but he's ok. As I can't drive at night, his daughter, my niece, took me up with her. I was grateful for that.
Now I seen him, I'm ok now.

Definitely not too early to talk about Christmas now....just 3 days away. We went to a garden centre today, all the Christmas lights and decorations were half price. I got a brilliant red berry runner, really thick and substantial, it fits the full length of my 10ft fireplace, well chuffed.

Did my main Christmas food shop a good few days back and stocks were good. Have an order arriving tomorrow, which is just my normal everyday items, like topping up tea bags, freezer stuff etc so if out of stock then it's no big deal to wait until the rush is over. I doubt I'll starve
