And Israel doesn't want to own Gaza and the West Bank.
They just don't want Hamas being their neighbor any more.
Ever wonder why Jordan and Egypt don't have issues with Israel?

Two blokes, usual suspects, sexually assault a child of 14 in her own home. They each received 2.5 years*. The Attorney General is now looking into the lenient sentencing after several requests to do so. https://x.com/RobertJenrick/status/1944783379158687990
Good news. However, people have been jailed for far longer for far less than these animals…and some wonder why we have vigilantes.

Yes, we know wars are bloody and horrendous. When the IRA held a bombing campaign in the UK, did we go over there bombing and murdering innocent people indiscriminately?
No, because even in a war, there are rules. Only tthe errorists don't follow them, presumably Israel does not want to be known as a terrorist country. Since these figures below were released, thousands more civilian casualties have been reported in Gaza.
"March 24(Reuters) - Palestinian health authorities say Israel's ground and air campaign in Gaza which resumed last week has killed more than 50,000 people, with nearly a third of the dead under 18."
I'd be sceptical about those figures from the health ministry. Nowhere does it state in that article that those figures are a fact.
Gaza's Hamas run government has paid the salaries of all those hired in public departments since 2007, including in the Health Ministry. The Palestinian Authority still pays the salaries of those hired before then.
No journalists other than Palestinian ones are allowed in Gaza.
I'm wondering if those figures are an overall one since the war kicked off after Oct 7th rather than one day of attack. But the way it's written implies it happened in that one single attack.
More than 170 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the conflict.
There's no doubt the Palestinians have suffered terribly in this conflict. It won't ever end so long as fanatical Islamists are in charge.

"WHAT DOES ISRAEL SAY?
Israeli officials have said the figures are suspect because of Hamas' control over government in Gaza. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oren Mamorstein said the numbers were manipulated and "do not reflect the reality on the ground".
However, Israel's military has also accepted in briefings that the overall Gaza casualty numbers are broadly reliable.
The Israeli military says 407 of its soldiers were killed in combat since its Gaza ground operation began on Oct. 27, 2023."

I’m sceptical of every claim Hamas makes tbh.
There is photographic evidence of them, online, using the same actor posing as a medic, a reporter, a wounded civilian etc…iirc there was even a video of a ”dead child” being mournfully cradled, dead that is until the child’s leg started moving. . I’m not sure if I still have the bookmarks, will post if so.

Israel is following the Hamas plan with flying colours.
"A conflict monitor has identified Israel as being responsible for the majority of the world's civilian deaths and injuries during wartime throughout 2024.
The report published Tuesday by the United Kingdom-based Action on Armed Violence (AOAV) found last year to be the most harmful on record for civilians since the group began compiling data in 2010. Some 61,353 noncombatants were killed and wounded throughout 2024, marking a 67 percent increase from the previous year, with Israel named as the top culprit amid its war with the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and Iran-aligned Axis of Resistance factions elsewhere in the region.
"Israel was identified as the single largest perpetrator of civilian harm in 2024, accounting for 55% of all civilian casualties from explosive weapons globally,"

While AOAV uses multiple sources, the lack of independent verification of the data collected from media reports can be a concern. We only have two sources that give bodies like this information, Israel and Hamas. Because nobody else other than Palestinian journalists can go into Gaza. I'd like to see some genuine cast iron figures from a reliable source but that's never going to happen right now. We do know that the casualties are higher in Gaza than Israel for all the reasons discussed on this thread.

We can all believe the reports that suit our own opinions and discard the ones that dont. The simple fact is the Israelis are killing children and people desperately seeking medicines, food and water, at designated point....regularly.
' Maybe the Israeli military's acceptance that the figures are 'broadly reliable' hold more clout.
"Israel's military has also accepted in briefings that the overall Gaza casualty numbers are broadly reliable."

Yep - that’s just human nature.
But I do try hard to seek out things I can see/hear - in real time - with my own eyes and ears.
The curse of social media can be that there’s just so much conflicting, disingenuous (and often downright evil) disinformation, out there. Add technology like AI manipulation into the mix, and we can sometimes feel we’re sinking into a quagmire of inconsistent information, and we don’t know what the hell to believe 🤷🏻♀️

I agree, I think we have all seen vids where the same actors pop up in various roles.
But when there are daily reports by Brits working in Gaza for UNICEF and other organisations , who are working there doing various humanitarian works reporting on these atrocities, it's more convincing than reading the conflicting reports by either Israel or Hamas.
I tend to believe the mass killing of innocents is happening on a regular basis, indeed, Israel often admit to 'mistakes'.
I think dead kids in war are simply called 'collateral damage', many thousand of them in this present war.

That's my point. There is no 'truth' because there are so many sources regarding this conflict. That video I posted showed Hamas shooting at civilians at the food aid points.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), the controversial US and Israeli-backed group which operates the distribution centre near Rafah, said: "Hamas is claiming there was violence at our aid distribution sites today. False.
"Once again, there were no incidents at or in the immediate vicinity of our sites.
"But that's not stopping some from spreading the lies being peddled by 'officials' at the Hamas-controlled Nasser Hospital."
The Red Cross said its field hospital in Rafah has recorded more than 250 fatalities and treated more than 3,400 "weapon-wounded patients" since new food distribution sites were set up in Gaza on 27 May.

Yeah, they do. There were some Israeli's shooting at civilians at some lone border post somewhere and the authorities arrested them. I guess you can't fully police hatred. Who knows if they hadn't lost loved ones to Oct 7th. No excuse but might explain it.

Civilians in Gaza are hopelessly trapped between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
The ‘hard place‘ is the barbarous Hamas terrorists that rule over Gaza, and routinely use civilians as human shields. The ‘rock’, of course, is the uncompromising, unyielding brutality of Israel whenever it‘s provoked. How else could the October 7th attack be viewed as anything other than a provocation of unparalleled savagery?
There‘s also the theory that Netanyahu is trying to prolong the war for as long as he can, to avoid the legal challenges he’s facing.

They did have a peace treaty, the Oslo Accords.
But a large portion of the Palestinian population, including various militant groups staunchly opposed the Oslo Accords.
The peace process was strained by the Cave of Patriarchs Massacre perpetrated by Baruch Goldstein an American Israeli extremist.
In response Hamas conducted its first suicide bombing killing eight Israelis and injuring 34. An additional five Israelis were killed and 30 injured by a Palestinian suicide bomber on a bus a week later. Hamas claimed responsibility for both attacks. Hamas stated that these attacks were to put an end to the "peace process"
Far right Israelis also opposed the Oslo Accords, and Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated in 1995 by a right-wing Israeli extremist for signing them.
How the hell are you supposed to get peace ever when this kind of mindset is allowed to thrive. It should be stamped ruthlessly out, both with Hamas and with far right extremists.
