It will be a year in October since I stopped smoking. Taste buds are better, so is sense of smell, which isn't always a good thing.
I would never smoke again, not after that ulcer bursting and losing all that blood.
Well done V. I have up 12 years ago. So much better innit

It is Mags, I'll never go back to it.

The SPL started last week, the EPL starts this week, Friday to precise.
Anyway the Captains of the twenty EPL clubs met last week and they want to stop "taking the knee" before each game.
They feel it's lost is gravitas, personally I was never in favour of it at all.

Eleven people have been accused of witchcraft, child sex abuse, animal scarifices, forcing children to take drugs and forcing the children to take part in seances.
The court also heard the child were raped while the adults clapped, cheered and made videos of it, they were also accused of making the children kill animals.
A number of dogs have said to have been killed.
Five others were also said to have been involved in the abuse but have killed themselves since the investigation started.
One of them (Robert Brown) died eight days after furious neighbours gathered outside his house when they found out about what he had been accused of.
The accused are all Scottish and the trial is expected to start in September at the High Court in Glasgow next year.
It's twenty years ago today since Holly and Jessica were murdered.
Unless Huntley tells the truth we're unlikely to ever find out the truth but having read a few books on the case and several crime magazines about it, i think to surmise Huntley killed Holly first and Jessica saw her friend dead and made it to the front door and nearly got away before he caught her.

This is one of the crimes, that when you see the photo of those beautiful young girls, it all comes back as if it happened yesterday.
I don't understand why people think keeping evil alive, living on for decades in prison, is preferable to capital punishment, which is over and done with quickly...emotionally and financially.
My heart goes out to the families of these crimes, who must relive the horror every time it's brought up in the press.

A lot of people use Derek Bentley and Timothy Evans as examples of why hanging isn't a good idea but the advances in science and DNA mean there's little chance of anything like that happening again.
I'm in favour of it, especially for child killers.
That school photo of Sarah Payne is another one that really gets to you. Her shy smile and her life just starting and then killed by that monster.
Her dad drank himself to death, another victim of Roy Whiting.

I was taken aback by Archie Battersbee's mother's comments that the doctors and nurses haven't given the twelve year old any care.
I would imagine he's had nothing but the best care for the last four months.
I came across this on Twitter and although not about Archie it's about a similar situation, the case of Charlie Gard.

I agree, in the past mistakes were made, not many, but one is one too many.
Nowadays, thanks to DNA and more advanced technology, mistakes like that could not be made.

Not now Syl, why should the likes of Huntley be allowed to grow old when it's something he denied his victims.
He was the ring leader who kidnapped and tortured Kriss Donald, in what was the first ever race hate murder in Scotland.
Kriss was a 15 years old white boy and the gang held him down and stabbed him 13 times and then doused him in petrol and set him on fire as the boy bled to death.
That's only part of what they did, they then hot footed it to Pakistan and would never have stood trial if it hadn't been for MP Mohammed Sarwar.
Mr Sarwar's son is now the Scottish Labour leader, i like him too.

He's been attacked a few times, even the prison officers hate his guts.
He was nearly killed a few years ago when he was in the prison gym and someone hit him over the head with a weight.
He was out cold, his one friend ran to his defence, so the prisoners beat him up as well
There was nearly a riot.

There was accusations of reporting bias from the BBC in the way the murder of young Kriss was reported compared to the case of Stephen Lawrence.
Kriss Donald's murder was only mentioned on the national news three times.

Exactly! He was white, that's why, oh and his murderers were Muslims!
Stephen's murder was hyped up so.much and then made racist. They may have killed him but it wasn't because of his colour. I've heard several stories, all very similar of what really happened.
