So we are settling for the theory that police and secret services of the USA are very akin to the Keystone cops then? ... OK.
They can be. They did fire the head of the Secret Service because like many government leaders, she was incompetent.
Unless you're a conspiracy theorist and in that case, she was a fall guy for her boss..
Trumps security guards at that event acted like they were in a scene from a Pink Panther film...I half expected Peter Sellers to pop up from behind the rostrum instead of Trump.
One short, confused security woman couldn't even find her holster for her gun, so gave up, and bundled him away in his limo still holding on to it.
Well, if you're a conspiracy theorist you could say that was part of Biden's plan.
Surround Trump with incompetent secret service people..
I doubt very much Biden had the wherewithal to choose what cereal he had for breakfast, never mind hatch a Pink Panther style assassination.

Maybe it was his auto pen. 🤷 My point is, Trump has the power to lean on federal officers now (look at ICE). He didn't have that power a year ago. If some crazy scheme was cooked up by the Secret Service (it wasn't), it was done under the control of the last administration..

Indeed. The man is totally mad with zero empathy or compassion. The way he looked at Elon 's child in the Oval office gave me the creeps..he could have just smiled but he stared at the kid with annoyance and distaste before quickly adopting a weird blank expression which was somehow worse.
Someone I know (and no it is not me ) said "God forgive me but maybe they shouldn't have missed" (referring to Trump 's would be assassin) That may be too far for some which I totally get. I will reserve judgement until I see how badly the absurd tariffs are for America, the EU and everywhere else..Not to mention whatever other schemes he dreams up to cause people hardship and fear.

Maybe the kid is an absolute brat…nothing worse than feigning interest in some spoilt bratty unlikeable unruly offspring but who knows what the kid is like.
My mother in law used to get offended when I wouldn’t let her pampered toy poodles “kissy lick” me on the lips or lick my new born baby’s face.

Did the kid, after picking his nose and wiping it on Trumps desk, not say to him, "I want you to shut your fucking mouth" It could have been 'false news' to use a Trump expression.
I thought the whole thing of holding a press conference with his kid balancing on Musks shoulders was very odd in the first place.

MAGA are determined to oust him by any means necessary.

While this flies undet the radar of most people, you and I know that the greatest threat to my country, and by extension yours, is Trump getting control of our monetary policy via the Federal Reserve.
Everything else he does is mostly theater and performative nonsense that is irritating, amusing or stupid, but not earth changing.
This could really start another dark ages and I'm not one prone to over reacting.
Bessenet is trying to keep Trump under control..

Yes, we are very much agreed. The impact on global markets could be severe.
TBF, it's only a referral at this stage so exactly nothing may come of it. That said, it smacks of a political witchunt to wear down Powell and make him quit because firing him for cause seems a stretch at the moment.
As always, follow the money.

It doesn’t fly under my radar. NOTHING that pestilent psycho does, or tries to do, flies under my radar.
And even those among us who are not budgetary experts must surely see the peril of letting a 6-times bankrupt, Mobbed-up, convicted felon run America into bankruptcy and ruin too, before he finally croaks.

My point was that most people in the US couldn't name the Chairman of the Fed or what he does. Those same people will pontificate about how great or terrible Trump is.
If Americans really understood this, there's no way we would see people like Trump, Biden or Harris ever nominated. They are that bad on this topic.
But people are terrible at analyzing real risk vs perceived risk.

You have every reason to fear him, Fluffster I recall my first reaction as he came down that ridiculous gilded escalator a decade ago to announce his run for the presidency, was “🫣This shit cannot be for real!”.
And then the shit got real.
He’s a malignant narcissistic sociopath, plain and simple. He has no conscience whatsoever, and exhibits a depraved indifference towards others. Yet he’s also superficially charming and manipulative. I do believe sociopaths are born that way - you can’t grow a conscience.
There are plenty of sociopathic criminals like him throughout the world. But none have benefitted from the great good fortune of being elected President of the United States, and all the power and legal protection that title allows.
Added to that, is the grotesque motley crew of sycophants and power-hungry goons who continue to enable his every whim. Not least of which are the 6 robed partisans who preside over the highest court in the land, and who have ruled to allow him to assume the status of a King, and the authority to do whatever the fuck he wants with absolute impunity.
For the good of America and the world, I‘m hoping like hell that the Epstein issue will end up being the catalyst that will finally bring him down. Either that, or one double cheeseburger too many. But I’m not holding my breath, because it’s been remarkable to have seen his Teflon arse slide away from every single criminal act and his constant abuse of power.
He truly does have the luck of the devil!

Firstly, I applaud your post.
However regarding the BIB, I don't think he IS superficially charming. He certainly didn't manage to initially "charm "you or I! I've met co workers in real life that I liked at first and then realised they were snakes in the grass who had been gossiping about me. I'm not saying they were sociopathic btw but they DID have false charm that threw me off.
To be fair to the Orange one he has never hidden his personality. He is a compulsive liar to be sure, he doesn't truly care about the American electorate unless they burn in the sun. His offensive bill regarding diversity (what he viewed as positive discrimination for black women I assume ) shows what distasteful views he has. I'm not sure what that specific bill set out to achieve so correct me if I'm wrong by all means. He is certainly a raging pervert. When he was overheard saying "you can grab women by the gen*tals, do anything to them" (he could due to his immense fortune I suppose ) I thought that maybe the American public, especially women ,might change their minds and see him for the truly abhorrent individual he was.
But they didn't. Women continued to vote for a man they knew for certain had no respect for them. And the new wave of 20 something "Trad Con" wives on Instagram, baking cakes and cleaning in full make up but modest dress has Trump's advisors all over it.Their message with fixed smiles and unnaturally white teeth is how happy they were to be housewives and look after the children. Trump needs more people to make babies again. I'm fairness that's true of many countries including the UK. But Trump only wants to incite a certain type of baby boom, offspring as white as the socialite 's teeth.
Nobody ever envisaged Rade versus Woe would be reversed but it was. I saw a YouTube video where young girls who did not consent to sex were desperate for help but doctors in their state simply refused to give it. She ended up sitting on the pavement bereft and crying ,while her friend clutched a load of useless leaflets, the only help with this unwanted pregnancy this poor girl would be given.
Sorry to go off on a tangent but Trump has plans for America that do not care about women's rights or the rights of people who may (or may not) be immigrants. The future he wants is a return to the 1950's and women who think they are safe may have a frightening wake up call. Some of the people he had flown off God knows where had been living in America all their lives but due to one parent entering America illegally 25 years ago they had been forcibly removed from the country they knew and loved as home. Trump is sociopathic, a narcissistic ass, just as you stated but people knew that and they STILL voted for him. What does that say about his voters?
I just hope you're right and him being included in the squalid details of the Epstein case does something to stop his relentless rampage. Sorry for long post but as my never ending essay shows(!) I think power has been given to a white rich man who only cares for other white rich men and that is a ghoulish prospect for the rest of the human race.

@ Fluffster…..great post, but I’m off out in a bit so I’ll get back to you later.
For now though: ’modest dress’ in Trumplandia??
Are you kidding me? Have you seen some of the gravity-defying plastic boobage, barely-there dresses, highly improbable hair extensions, and filler trout pouts parading around Mar-a-Lago?
He's coming to Scotland today. This could be amusing.
