@ Fluffy… I’d say I’m mostly bang-on Centre, but inclined to lean centre-Left or centre-Right, depending on the issue in question.
I‘d like to see all the things you want to happen, too
What I DON’T want to see is the virtue-signalling Left endlessly droning on and making a huge deal of issues that, in reality, minimally impact the majority of citizens. That just alienates people, and ends being counterproductive to electoral success.
(and yeah, I agree - Mags is cool )

She is lovely, and never takes offence when other people give their views.
Her only problem is she forgets to come back into the threads she has posted on, so Fluffy will be lucky if she even gets an answer.

Mags I hope me being left wing will not stop us replying to each other. I like you very much as a poster and respect your political views.
Don't think you have anything to worry about TBF. I'm forever dissing Reform, Farage, Brexit and so on and I've never had an issue engaging in a discussion with Magica. She seems like a nice person although she probably rolls her eyes at a lot of the things I say politically.
She is lovely, I noticed that when I joined.
I'm glad someone else has similar views to me I think some laugh hysterically at the things I say politically! I would be most content with an eye roll, lol.

If you mean the trans debate (you may not mean that at all but I'm guessing!) my views are not very left in that one department..I wouldn't have a problem calling myself a cis woman around a trans friend who wanted to just be called a "woman". If a trans lady has had all the procedures done I don't have a problem calling her a woman either.
But people walking around with beards presenting themselves as men in women's clothing wanting to be called "women were pushing it!
Since the ban on trans female's entering ladies toilets more "masculine" looking women have been stopped than trans women Masculine meant over fifty or, having short grey hair. If you had both you had security all in a lather as you brazenly approached the ladies loo! It was ridiculous, you could see they were women ,just not wearing make up.
As for virtue signalling I'm guessing that occurs on mainstream social media..I don't know what the "cool" views are but do know that a significant amount of young men intend to follow Reform so as much as I dislike them, they must be doing something right.

I do worry things will get less peaceful if the Government doesn't placate the public or just..DO something. There were 9 arrests in the London protests. It should be evident that the majority of the public think too many immigrants whose origins we don't know are coming into the country and the government is so disordered it just doesn't seem to see a problem.
Syl, has your Mayor Andy Burnham expressed an opinion on immigration?
Edit, Yvette Cooper has decided to introduce a " fast track scheme"to work on the backlog of migrants more quickly, especially those who have been rejected but are appealing against that result.

Andy Burnham does a live phone in every week on GMR. He gives his opinion on everything he is asked, including immigration..
I think like most intelligent people he is concerned, especially with illegal immigration.

it's about time the British silent majority bit back with a show of solidarity. With the coming to light of increasing sexual attacks by migrants on women and children, it's going to be a rocky ride.

Piccadilly gardens has always attracted nutters, there are parts in any city that are best avoided.
I'm sure the rest of Manchester was having a great night, unfortunately, one man wont be going home, and the usual nutters and rubber neckers are doing what they always do, pity he wasted time concentrating on her.

BIB: How can they be thoroughly vetted when they, reportedly, ditch passports etc before they land…no documents means no past criminal acts / names etc will be known. Age? most of us have seen the pics of the supposed “15 year olds”.
Betcha the “fast track scheme” is just that. No vetting just an automatic signature on thousands of papers flying across a desk. This Govt insults the intelligence of every man, woman and child in the UK. There’ll be no “vetting“ just as the gangs aren’t being “smashed”.

I admit I watched that entire thing, mostly in the hope of seeing that hideous shrew’s arse being slung into a police van.
I think I now have a better idea of what’s happening in the UK. Much like in the US and other parts of the world - generally piss-poor public education standards, resulting in low-aspirational Millennials and Gen Zers (soon to be joined by Gen Alphas) who declare themselves to be ‘Citizen Journalists’ and ‘Influencers’, and who try to monetise their social media with whatever shite they manage to pick up on their phones.
Then there’s grievance actors and pests like that hag, who clamour for attention - any attention. The “DON’T TOUCH ME! I know my rights, so what you gonna DO about it, eh?”. Behaviour like hers isn’t down to ‘mental health issues‘, imo. People like her clearly enjoy being a pain in the arse, simply because they can, and because they have nothing else to do to fill their days.
Add a simmering undercurrent of both-sides bigotry and anti-immigrant resentment into the mix, and what could possibly go wrong…..

Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, was charged with the rape of the underage girl in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
A second man, Mohammad Kabir, also 23, was charged with aiding and abetting rape, as well as strangulation and kidnap of the girl, who is now receiving specialist care.
Despite the huge interest the incident has caused in Nuneaton, the police tried to keep the truth from the public. This is not the way to go. And we're getting sick of it.
