The numbers are rising again and we all know why, the vast numbers on the beaches, the trashing of the national parks, the illegal (and violent) street parties, the raves and the BLM demonstrations.
People seem to be losing their minds, and it will cost lives.
Matt Hancock has threatened to close the beaches. Let’s hope he follows through with
his words.
I hope he bloody does, also I want the police to be given new powers to disperse all these raves and fucking violent street parties (more coppers were savagely attacked in Notting Hill last night), water cannons would be a start and I am serious - many other European countries use them so why can't we?
People just do not seem to care that they are putting the vulnerable and elderly in terrible danger once again.

Although easing lockdown could see an increase, you are wrong there, numbers aren't rising (not in the UK anyway). See the Worldometer charts.
7 day rolling average isn't rising.
The thousands.. that packed out beaches better hope they are lucky however. And a steep rise doesn't follow in 2 to 3 weeks.
I'm optimistic. Because what else do we have. lol And the strong UV ray levels right now MAY just come to the rescue of those thousands of fools. The Science isn't clear regarding UV rays affect on the virus yet but some experts do think it may have some affect on slowing the virus. Here is hoping.

Beaches crowded. Schools reopening. Pubs reopening. Cinemas reopening. Shops reopening. Tourism restarting. Air corridors opening. Too much too soon? If the covid curve goes up in the next three months how to know which of these things caused it?

Much of the World is facing this conundrum. When easing restrictions. And there are no perfect answers and solutions to be had. Far from it in fact.
What the Swedish experts have to say about full lockdowns I find interesting. Look it up if you have a chance.

What are they saying?
In summary. How full prolonged lockdowns do more harm than good. How the affects on many peoples general health, mental health, and finances. Will ultimately cause more hardship long into the future for a greater number of people than the virus itself will.
They say instead of full blanket lockdowns. Concentrate your efforts hard on care homes and other particularly vulnerable people. While letting everyone else carry on pretty much as normal but with social distancing measures.
They also say many Governments around the World faced so much political pressure from various sources. And caved in. They believe all Countries should have gone their route.

Sweden did things there way, and at first it did seem they had it right as so few cases and deaths were reported.
Not now though. They have had a surge in infections and deaths when similar countries have seen the infection and death rate fall drastically.
Both Switzerland and Denmark have had far fewer deaths per population percentage, and they both followed lockdown.
It's also reported that a high % of deaths in Sweden IS attributed to the older people, so not following lockdown hasn't seemed to protect them very well in spite of them concentrating on protecting the vulnerable.

The top Swedish expert countered some of what you are saying. When he also had a pop at WHO recently. I might post the link later. Either way though everyone has their views. Even experts are still largely just flying in the wind with this new virus. MUCH is still unknown.
Seems to me that there are no great answers and solutions to be had here. Many impossible choices, many impossible decisions have to be made. I think in the long run, many major Countries in particular will end up broadly in the same position. The damage done health wise and financially will have a similar impact on a lot of Countries. When you take into account per capita. Demographics. And many other things.
This thing has a LONG, long, way to run yet. That's the opinion of many experts. WHO even said recently its getting worse. Wasn't there the most new cases in one day across the World or something, just a few days back. Also second waves and peaks. Who knows how they may turn out.
I try to be optimistic as you've seen on here. But for sure it is real hard to think that way about this virus at times.

I agree, and it is hard to be optimistic when no one knows how, when or if this is ever going to be controlled.
The thought of a new surge months down the line after people have totally changed their lifestyle for, many being held prisoners in their own homes to try and be safe, I think contracting the virus AND mental illness will really soar if all this has been for nothing.
Going back to square one will seem like the inevitable has merely been postponed.

The scariest thing here is ultimately you are relying on the overwhelming majority doing the right things. More than ever before. Even more than during War. More people have to fight for their Country now so to speak, because it is a battle. People need to realise that.
No matter what Governments and authorities say and do. No matter what you think of decisions. It mostly comes down to the overwhelming majority not doing crazy things. Such as packing out beaches and the like. Until more therapeutics and a good vaccine is here at least. Basically everyone playing their part doing their very best at keeping the transmission of the virus very low is vital!
Damage can be done quite quickly and easily. Getting back on track takes much longer.

We will have to wait two or three weeks to see if all the raves, riots, demo's and beach packing has had any effects, and if so how much.

A significant minority in this country are simply thick, selfish morons.
The beaches, the hysterical BLM shit, the illegal raves and violent street 'parties' used as an excuse to attack 'the feds', the trashing of the national parks and beauty spots all over the UK.
A second wave in certain areas is now inevitable - and could spread throughout the land once again because they will be travelling all over the fucking place.

Leicester East, more precisely apparently.
Why Leicester. Is the question. There's a large Asian community in Leicester East, they are more susceptible so it is said. Hopefully they have been practicising social distancing as stringently as anyone. They obviously should be doing so. Is poverty coming into it.
Personally I don't know much about Leicester. Most of the above comes from one or two well-known news sites.

Leicester is now back in lockdown and a new Flu virus with Pandemic potential has just been discovered in China.
Not dangerous yet but highly concerning nonetheless.
Due to our destruction of the natural world and disgusting treatment of wild and domestic animals in general it has been predicted such events will become more and more common in the coming decades.
