We try and go somewhere hot a couple of times when it's cold....sadly not this year, but we did have a glorious spring that seemed to arrive early so it wasn't too bad. I am dreading winter...especially if we are all limited in what we can do and where we can go, though I wont be going abroad anyway this year.
Great new avatar - is that your expression when the sun comes out?

Maybe it'll improve here as the day goes on. We just sat out for a bit in the garden, cold wind and cloudy.

The sun turned itself down when it saw you!

I rode my bike about 40 miles yesterday in 105° heat.
Not one of my brighter moves. It's basically impossible to stay hydrated at those temps while exercising.
I cramped up all night. Like sweet baby Jesus, I'm dying from cramps in both legs at the same time.

Blimey Maddog, I hope you had plenty liquids with you.
If you can get hold of any Quinine Sulphate that's good for leg cramps....or tonic water may help.

I've never heard of that. Just googled it. Sounds like the side effects can be dangerous. I'm on a diuretic for blood pressure. I may talk to the doctor about changing to something else. In the summer, the cramps start while riding and get worse through the day even hours after I stop. I've tried a bunch of supplements. I may have to accept the fact that I just cant handle the heat like a 25 year old anymore. In the winter I can still rattle off 100 miles at a slow pace.

I was prescribed Quinine for leg cramps for years, I only recently came off them.
I had yearly checks and suffered no side effects.
So far the cramps have without quinine have been managable....fingers crossed.

Beautiful day....just the one, but I am grateful for anything at this stage of late summer.
Went to Hebden bridge for a ride out, lovely little place and bursting with nice little cafes around the town square, safe distancing too, so it was nice to eat out in the sun.
