Just want to say thanks for the updates, Syl! I’ve been following this story since you first posted about it.
And I still blame the mother.
The mother instigated the trouble as soon as her yob sons met her at the airport. So you are 100% correct Vam.

A not guilty verdict would be a travesty of justice. Nothing to do with who wants who here or not.

Many won’t see it that way, racism for starters. Depends on the motives? - 2 tier justice…Pakistanis/Muslims not tolerated…black on white violence…male violence on a female…officers being assaulted doing their job etc etc.
Different I know but look at the reactions re George Floyd. Many saw the cop as guilty as hell whilst others saw George getting what he deserved. Racism played a big part in that I feel - racism from both sides imo. OJ another case that springs to mind.
I hope these thugs get lengthy prison sentences but like I said there’s going to be bother whatever the verdict.

The mother won't be sentenced, she isn't even on trial.
She started it, citing racist behaviour towards her (and if the person who she accused of that was white, that would have swung in her yob sons favour) however, he wasn't, so that one fell a bit flat.
The mother sat in on an interview after the brawl, blaming the police for the whacking great bruise on her face.
1...she shouldn't have been physically interfering with the police.
2...her hefty son elbowed her in the face when he was attacking the cop, so hard, she was knocked to the floor. I would guess that's when she was bruised.
3. The cop did push her face away, when she was on the floor trying to protect her son.
On Monday, the jury will start their deliberations. The Manchester Evening News have in depth reports, (if and when there is anything new to report) so it'll be intersting to see how it goes.

But the jury hasn't decided yet. Do you mean you're expecting that that will be their verdict?

I think the reason this case has attracted so much attention is because the suspects are Muslim, and it's tapped into the anti-Muslim sentiment that's prevalent in the country. Of course being able to watch the videos that were released, and the fact that one of the victims was a policewoman, all adds to the sense of outrage.
But if you bear in mind that the charges are only for ABH, a not-so-serious offence in the great scheme of things, and that across the country there are hundreds of similar and more serious offences every week, maybe this case isn't the big deal it's being made out to be.
Assuming they're found guilty, there's a chance they won't get a prison sentence, as that isn't automatic for ABH unless the offender has a history of similar offending, which I'm not sure is the case here. But having said that, as one of the victims was a police officer, it might tip the balance towards jail time. The maximum sentence for ABH is five years.

The initial reason this case attracted so much attention, was the alleged police brutality. Videos taken at the time, showing a policeman kicking a man in the head, and appearing to stamp on his head as he lay defenceless on the floor were all over the internet and press.
It soon became clear that the videos had been cut and spliced to show only one side of what happened...but by then the public interest and outrage, knowing the police had been viciously attacked whilst doing their job, was rife.
If you check the first page of this thread, it's clear that going off the initial video, the sympathy lay with the Asian man being kicked.

Ooh, we may have more to come in the future…
” After 10 hours of deliberating, the jury was unable to reach verdicts on allegations that Amaaz and his brother, Muhammad Amaad, 26, assaulted PC Zachary Marsden causing actual bodily harm.
I bet he will get bail....and hopefully, when it comes, the sentence will be the 5 years max, I won't hold my breath though
"Amaaz was remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing, a date for which has not yet been decided.
A hearing is due to take place on Thursday to decide if he can be released on bail in the meantime."

I hope not! The scrawny little scrote would definitely be a flight risk, imo.
I realise we’re not privy to all the evidence the jury had to consider, but I’m surprised the beefier bruiser got a temporary reprieve. He could be a flight risk too.

Hopefully the other yob will be found guilty at a later date, and the weedy one will have another guilty verdict on top of the one he has.
I also am surprised the larger yob wasn't found guilty, it was all on video.
Scrawny yob claimed he had no idea it was the police who apprehended him at the pay station ...he must have thought he could headbutt a member of the public and walk off with no consequences.

if those two are not inbred, I'll eat my hat!
I couldn’t possibly comment 🤐😇
And for the umpteenth time, I blame Mama Bear. Both for how she raised that pair of feral bruisers, but also for how she incited them to kick off at that airport.
For the avoidance of doubt, I don’t see colour, and I don‘t GAF about anyone’s religion. But I do call out mindless brutality whenever I see it.
