Well, hopefully I have just twisted my back and don't have to pee a stone out.

How annoying, I bet all it needs is a jump start.
I am still in agony with my back, though the pain has now gone right round to my abdomen, I can hardly move.

Are you sure that's not a kidney stone?
They cause pain as they move. The pain starts in your back and will move around to the front and eventually your lower abdomen..
Dr Maddog wants to know if your pissing OK..

Peeing fine, bending, standing up and sitting down, not so much.
Getting out of bed this morning I did a pretty good fosbury flop maneuvre.
If it's still bad after the weekend I may seek help.

Yeah, a kidney stone hurts but it doesn't really hurt much more when you move. It hurts when it moves.
You threw something out.
Do you have a foam roller or a massage gun?
Dr Maddog recommends those and ice packs..

I would die of shock if I put an ice pack on my belly.
I am applying voltarol gel on my lower back, I think that's where the pain is stemming from.

Hot water bottle might help as well Syl.
I don't think a bag of frozen peas or similar would be a good idea.
🙁

It sounds.like a nerve to me or pulled muscle. Going by wear pain is it's more a nerve I think. Heat does help.

Thanks all, I think it is a pulled muscle, and its affecting the nerves all across my stomach.
Today it's even worse, I can hardly move... I will just keep warm and carry on taking the pain killers.
Will give an update when I feel better. x

RICE
rest
ice
compression
elevation
Can't really do the last two with your back..
You likely have some sort of inflamed muscle..Ice sucks but it reduces swelling and inflammation. Heat makes it worse even if it feels better..
You could also try a TENS unit..

I've had a kidney stone. It hurts constantly and the pain is dreadful. I've also had a badly pulled back and needed Tramadol for that. It's a different kind of pain.

You'd be surprised how even the smallest muscle can cause terrible pain when pulled specially in the back. Sitting down is torture, so don't. Lie or walk about. Take Ibuprofen or similar and just rest it. I invested in one of those spot massagers that looks like a gun....they are great for pulled muscles because they increase blood flow which helps heal the muscle faster and flushes out the toxins that aggravate the nerves.

I am taking Naproxen a double dose, the gel and paracetamol didn't help. I think time is the only thing that does. I can't even get a pair of joggers on, and OH had to put my socks on for me again.

I love cranking up my massage gun and hammering away on my muscles..
You don't even need pulled muscles. Most people are very tight and need their muscles loosened and stretched. That gun works wonders..
Dead hangs are very helpful for stretching your back, if you have a bar somewhere to hang from. If you haven't been doing them you likely will need to keep your toes on the ground to support yourself..
