Trevor Phillips: “Do you agree with your lawyers that the rights of asylum seekers are more important than the rights of local people in Epping Forest?"
Maybe this is one way, if enough people refused to pay council tax, the government would take peoples concerns seriously.
"Angry locals have confirmed they will refuse to pay their council tax until an asylum seeker hotel is removed from their town. One person said they would risk going to jail as they feel so strongly about the situation in Epping.
It comes after the Court of Appeal reversed an injunction blocking asylum seekers from staying at the Bell Hotel on Friday (August 29). A High Court order previously required the 138 migrants to be removed by September 12. However, they are now able to stay at the hotel, and the local people are furious."
Yesterday in Manchester, more demonstrations and counter demonstrations were carried out. It does seem that many people, after putting up with this two tiered society we seem to be living in for years, have eventually had enough.,

Yvette Cooper is going to make some 'minor tweaks' later today related to a migrant's right to family life. As it stands, it's easier for a migrant to bring their extended family over, than it is for a Brit to bring a new spouse into the country if they are non-British. What a state of affairs!
Cooper will also talk about the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), an international human rights treaty that has been used by lawyers attempting to halt deportations of failed asylum seekers. There have been growing calls in recent weeks - not only from those on the right, but also from some former Labour ministers - to either withdraw from the convention, or suspend elements of it.
The government is adamant it will not do that
Why not though? It's easy enough to do as Farage says he will completely remove Britain from the ECHR. The joys of having a human rights lawyer running the country!

It's a great idea in theory; however, the government will ignore it, as collecting money is down to the particular Council, not them (afaik), so Labour's invasion business will continue as normal - communities will ultimately suffer due to cuts in services :(
Kids getting raped, being illegal, illegal working, and £billions in costs mean nothing.
The appeal decision was settled before even the hearing took place IMO, look at those particular judges** for starters..akin to the sentencing of Lucy Connelly, her fate was decided before her "trial".
**A complaint has been lodged. "Steven Barrett, a prominent barrister, on Thursday said he submitted a complaint to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office arguing that Lord Justice Bean “should not have heard the Bell Hotel appeal” because of apparent conflicts of interest.
Those included his status as a founding member of Matrix Chambers, which Mr Barrett claims, is “firmly associated with advocacy in favour of allowing migrants to stay”. "

Remember when Starmer gave his excitable press conference after he had struck the one in one out deal with France "Where Britain leads, others will follow" he said at the time.

So how's it going so far then?

After 'Change' and 'Smash the Gangs', his new silly slogan is 'Delivery' - let's see how long it takes for that to go down the toilet as well.
He cracks me up when he 'pledges' something, like pledging to close all asylum hotels before 2029. He uses it as if it's a magic word that we are all to take at face value without question, and guarantees him coming through on his promises.
He'll pledge to do something, then when it fails, he will quickly move on to pledging something else, and hope the previous pledge has been forgotten.

No it's not satire...
"An NHS doctor has been suspended for a sixth time because she can't speak English, with colleagues warning she put patients at risk.
Dr Monika Matko, who trained in Hungary, was working at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in 2019 when concerns were first raised about her communication skills. A tribunal heard that Dr Matko, who graduated in 2003, had made “significant errors” while documenting care for a diabetes patient. This incident prompted worries from colleagues over her written and spoken English.
The General Medical Council (GMC) ordered Dr Matko to take an English language test – but she failed to meet the required scores in listening, reading, and writing. As a result, she was initially suspended for six months, with a review to take place to assess whether things had changed. A later hearing revealed she again failed to achieve the required scores in listening, reading, writing, and speaking in another test, which resulted in her receiving a 12-month suspension.
...Current rules mean doctors cannot be struck off solely due to language difficulties. However, they can be suspended if public safety is at risk." https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/36523849/nhs-doctor-suspended-english-concerns/
Unbelievable, how the feck did she get hired in the first place? What's the betting she was still getting a salary during those suspensions.
Maybe she should try one of the balloon or flower arrangement classes instead.

In cases like this the blame also lies at the people who are hiring her, it's absolutely scandalous. Medics who can't speak the language of the country they are practicing in, should not be hired, simple as that.

Epping Council loses permission to appeal ruling over asylum seekers at Bell Hotel
The council vowed to fight after a temporary injunction blocking asylum seekers from being housed at the accommodation was overturned last week.
The council has now said "no reasons were given" after its application for permission to appeal the most recent judgment was denied.

Rayner has to go doesn't she? Deputy PM and Secretary for Housing caught dodging tax on her own house - you couldn't make this stuff up!
Holding back the tears, says she was given innacurate advice, and only sought expert advice after she was caught out.
Surprisingly, the only member of the Frontbench who hasn't been caught up in any sleaze, made a complete fool of themself, or proven to be completely useless, is David Lammy - although he does seem to be flying very low under the radar these days. I feel it's only a matter of time though!

There are calls for her to make public the innacurate advice she claims she was given.
Then whoever gave it to her will defend themselves, or they will be finished instead.
So unless her tax lawyer doesn't know how taxes work, she has either lied or witheld information in an attempt to get out of paying the correct amount of tax.

Bridget Phillipson: ”Yes. Of course we do.”

I’d also like to know if this is true (aka as “inaccurate advice)… “Angela Rayner cannot be fully transparent about the tax arrangements on her second home because there is a court order barring her from revealing the relevant information, Downing Street has said.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/sep/01/angela-rayner-barred-court-order-second-home-tax-details
No Rayner tears for the OAPs, disabled, homeless, raped kids but caught in, alleged, tax fraud, seems there’s plenty.
