The Nazis killed Czeslawa Kwoka, a Polish Catholic girl, in 1943 at Auschwitz. According to the photographer, before this photograph was taken, the girl dried her tears and the blood from the cut on her lip.
I looked at that picture and got very sad. Then very irate.
This shit is where my political ideology comes from. I'm anti authoritarian as hell. I don't care if you're left or right leaning just don't be authoritarian leaning. Leave people alone amd stop supporting politicians who won't do the same. While she amd millions other are an extreme example of authoririanism run amuck, we see less egregious examples all of the time "for the good of blah, blah, blah"..
Right wing Nazis followed by Left Wing commies had perfectly good explanations (in their fucked up minds) for for doing what they did to Eastern Europeans .
Through brainwashing or intimidation they got large numbers of their people to accept their madness.
We have to stay ever vigilant. Humans are still the same creatures.
She was 14 when that photo was taken.

I know.
I Googled her name right after I saw this, which added to my irritation with the deadly scourge of authoritarianism and it's adherents and practioners.

It's the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend, I'm doing my big for the RSPB.
Only birds I don't like are Pigeons and there seems to be thousands of them.

We have mostly wood pigeons, magpies, and robins.
We also have herons that fly over, not so often now they have eaten all the neighbours fish from their pond.
We had an owl in the Christmas tree a few weeks ago, sadly he hasn't been back since.
My Jack had one of those collars when he had his wotsits off, he used to chew them as far down as he could and run round the house with it like a cape.
Very sore when you get it on the shins.

My dad has decided it's time, he started going online, he's bought himself a tablet.
He's 82 years old so better late than never.
I asked what he planned on looking up, history, Scotland, his ancestors?
The Horse racing results was his answer!!
🙄

Bless him.
I bet once he gets the hang of it he will be silver surfing with the best of them.

Message to JD.
If you don't try to help yourself, people will give up on you.
It's very frustrating being unable to speak privately with you, and we are all concerned for you. Why don't you go see your mum? Perhaps see if you can't restart your life up there and get away from an environment that's obviously not good for you. If you show you genuinely want to turn your life around and get better and stop drinking, then it will open doorways for you. Many people have completely turned their life around from being right at the bottom of the gutter. Your aunt is not going to give you a roof over your head if you behave the way you do, why should she? I wouldn't either. You need to show people that you are getting yourself right.
Here's an example of how it happen if you want it to

Shrove is derived from the old middle English word 'Shriven' which referred to going to Confession to confess to the things you had done wrong.
Because Lent always starts on a Wednesday people would go to Confession the day before, a day which became known as 'Shriven Tuesday' which evolved into Shrove Tuesday.
