Why cancel a holiday????????????????????????????????????????????
Would you want to go if people were dying, or if Boris decides to close Uk airports?

I can't see us going Italy in June. We might be lucky, otherwise they have to refund us. Thing is we can't cancel as we've paid it and won't get it back. Have to wait and see

Hopefully by then they might have the virus under control.
I was chatting with someone in Tesco the other day, and she said her brother flew out to
somewhere in Italy and they refused the plane entry so the plane had to go back.
If you are still u sure nearer the time and the situation hasn’t changed, or things have got worse here
You could cancel, by that time Boris May have dug his arse out of the sand and closed the U.K. airports,
so then you should get your money back.

I just spoke to Tui who we are going away with in April.
No refunds are being given till the foreign office steps in and declares a country unsafe. No matter that the biggest risk is at the airport, they are following government lines...after all their money is more important than your health.
Other countries are shutting down and closing airports...not us.
I pity the people who go on holiday and find themselves wandering around in isolation because everything's closed, that's going to happen soon.

Tui have now cancelled flights to Spain till Monday, not sure what they think will happen then to make the situation any better.
Jet2 have cancelled all flights to Spain, the Canaries and the Balearics, today they have turned planes round in mid air to return back to the UK.
If like me and other members here you have a planned holiday in the near future, it's not looking good.

Obviously the passengers on the holiday flights to Spain that have been cancelled or turned back today will be given refunds or alternate holidays when it's safe to travel again.
The flights that were cancelled were half empty as many people had already decided not to travel.
My question is....if a person had not turned up and checked in for the cancelled flights, will they also be entitled to compensation ..or because it was their own decision not to travel before the flights were cancelled will they not??

All holidays will be cancelled soon I reckon unless going in August upwards. Even then not sure. I don't care now if mine's cancelled, so be it.

I feel the same Mags. If it's cancelled we will get a refund, if it's not I doubt we will go anyway now, not unless things improve in the next month or so, and tbh I cant see that happening.

No I doubt it too Syl. This isn't going to be over anytime soon. I think the govt are hiding things from us, incase people panic, and not over toilet rolls this time, lol.
I doubt many will get abroad for their hols this year, maybe in August time, I can't see it before tbh.

I think the answer to the OP is pretty obvious now....
Nowhere.
I cant think of anything worse than being away from home whilst all this is going on. I really feel for people who got caught up in all this whilst on holiday and cant get back easily.

Yes, If you are going to get ill then home is the place for it. Also, we have had the difficulty of having to cut a package holiday short and get emergency flights home when a parent suffered a massive stroke whilst we were away.
