I'm not keen on the PM but since early he did not break the rules, it did seem unfair the entire Tory party would suffer due to one man's cowardly deceit.
Who knows, once Cummings is a thankfully distant memory the Tory party may regain their former recent goodwill with the electorate.

Funny you should say that - cos actually someone in such a senior judicial role should be the very one who should engage their brain before speaking.
Opposition MPs were calling for her to resign (which I think is a bit drastic tbh) but I certainly understand how strongly they feel about it - hence the news item caught my eye. She called for judges to butt out of politics! If she can bark orders at high court judges regarding being unbiased, she can surely follow her own advice?
The people to whom my post is addressed would see straightaway that the main point I was making there is that people in position of power should show no bias and say nothing that would influence those lower down the pecking order - and I gave an example with what David Cameron did.

I honestly don't think 'enough' UK folks can tolerate or manage a proper strict lockdown for too long. Cases and deaths have slowed. But they have still been steady and reasonably high. Over recent weeks still! That's after what 10 weeks or more of lockdown. Why? Why haven't things slowed down more, over all this time? Like in many other Countries.
Probably goes back to what I've said about many people just won't do strict lockdowns properly here. They won't do it strictly enough, for long enough.
Or maybe Countries like Italy, Spain, etc just aren't reporting properly anymore. I have my suspicions. Its funny how huge economic problems were being spoke of. And then quite quickly their cases per day numbers officially recorded have dropped very dramatically! I've also noticed how the Countries I've mentioned and others aren't testing many people at all anymore overall. Maybe that is why they appear to have very low daily new cases numbers of late. In my view the quite dramatic and rapid changes in some Countries data seems a tad false. Doesn't add up imo.
I'm later than you for a change. Couple of late nights for me in a row. How it goes at times. I'll get up in 5hrs or so and go to bed pretty early tomorrow. Usually works.

Like someone pointed out when lockdown started and some were moaning...we are not being asked to go out and fight a bloody war, we are asked to stay home and drink tea....or as the weather has been so good stay home and sunbathe.....it's not incredibly difficult really is it, not when the alternative is to go out and spread a deadly disease.
I do sympathise with people who live alone or live in flats with no outside space, I have a feeling they are not the ones acting like carefree arseholes though.

As soon as the government relaxed the Lockdown too soon I knew what would happen (and there were already enough arseholes flouting the rules throughout as it is).
Also what made me laugh was all the virtue signalling adverts making out that staying at home was so terrible - people were not being asked to go over the bloody top from the trenches into No Man's Land.
It started with Thatcher and the me, me, me generations and it has got much worse as so many people are so very selfish now.
Wait until this week - it will be chaos.
It's as if the almost 40,000 people who have died here have been forgotten already. :(

The lack of fear of the virus is surprising. And yes I know one or two who have acted at least close to their normal all along. Some of those ICU pictures and mini documentaries were horrific to see. And yet many don't appear bothered.
Like I've said now and again all through this crisis human beings capacity to believe it will never happen to me is staggering.
