Had new electric cooker delivered yesterday, no plug or cable! Was supposed to be plug in. 👿
Luckily my bro-in-law is an electrician and will fix it for us. 😁
Bloody typical.

Another day another irritation.
Went to a garden centre, the cafe has a great sitting out area, so we ordered food and it was lovely, till....a middle aged man limps in with a crutch and sits at the next table. Obviously by the way he was walking he had had some sort of recent op or injury.
He sits down, sticks his leg out, he is wearing shorts, and it was obvious he has just had a full knee replacement. Having had one in the past, I know the scar is very ugly till it settles, and his was new.
Very off putting.
Can't people have a bit more decorum? I doubt it's not only me who is put off by fresh wounds whilst trying to enjoy a cream tea.

I actually have coffee with my cream tea....but the assortment of dainty sandwiches and cakes is always lovely.
One of the nicest cream teas we had was at Holmfirth winery last summer. Wine tasting, wandering round the vinyards...then a glass of prosecco and the afternoon tea, it was really good value too.

You Americans are so uncultured.

I love the idea of drinking wine instead of milky tea. 😉

I only have a cup of tea in the morning...and just a splash of milk.
Coffee later on, and wine in the evening....though a glass or two of prosecco is always welcome.

I don't drink tea. It's disgusting. The only time I will is Lady Grey tea black, and then it has to be like gnat's. I'm a coffee person.

The council have announced that bin collections have been suspended because bin lorry drivers are needed to drive the school buses.

Last month Labour took control of it back from the SNP

Why are so many services so short staffed now?
Did people get used to not working during the pandemic?

Taxi drivers as well Syl.
My mum and dad's birthdays were this month and they went out for their dinner, tried to get taxis so my dad could have a couple of pints and told they just didn't have the drivers.

I think it's the opposite round here Vita.
Taxi drivers are complaining there is very little work for them now.

We've just been told, and only because a neighbour rang the council, that the recycle bin is only being collected once a fortnight. No letters telling us. Well mine is full of cardboard etc, so all my recycling will be going in the rubbish bin this week!
