I'm having a beverage in a bar with some buddies and just pulled this up while a Doors song is on the jukebox..
Spooky..😳

Canada and the rest of us lost Ian a few months ago. This is one of his most well known songs.

Speaking of Ian, he wrote this song too. Judy Collins had a hit with it in the late 60s but I like Jewel's version here. Maybe because she's so damn cute. 😉

Just watched a documentary about Dionne Warwick. She has had a career spanning 60 years, and is still going strong. One of the best female singers of all time.

We saw her in concert a few years ago, she was brilliant.
She talked a lot as well as sang all her songs. She couldn't stand Cilla Black.

Not my style, but anyone that is successful that long is very talented.

Talent comes in many forms...I love this girls music, though she always reminds me of the wildest kid in school.

Yeah, talent is generally determined by the masses but very individual in nature too.
Right now there are fans of the ballet that can name the best ballerinas in the business right now, as well as former dancers who were the best.
But I'm not interested in the ballet and couldn't name one, although I can acknowledge their talent if I were to watch it for a few minutes.
I just don't want to..
A lot of folks like Lady Gaga or Miley fall into that category for me..

Same here re ballet.
Maybe because it was never considered to be for the masses....most just never had the opportunity to go to the ballet.
Tbh, when I did see it on TV, I thought the men looked ridiculous.
I have matured a bit now, and appreciate the strength, talent and dedication that goes into the performances.

Here is some serious talent.
I don't like rap but I absolutely love this.
One guy one guitar and one dingy room is all and it is so full of emotion.
Hundreds of reaction sites are showing this video and are saying they have been totally blown away by tyhis.
Even therapists have been taking this song apart and showing you their goosebumps.
One heavy metal guy I saw who reviewed this reluctantly started sweating and then ended up in tears.
Five million hits in the first month!
What makes it so powerful isn't just his amazing talent but the fact this is about his major health problems over a ten year period.
He caught Lymes disease from a tick bite was wrongly prescribed and treated which led to serious psychosis on top of the lymes disease affecting his brain and his mental health.
He had a brain op a few days ago in Canada not sure how he is yet.
He had a band and recording contract with Sony but they ditched him when he became bedridden.
The voices in his head didn't win out in the end but this is full of raw emotion.

This one isn't a blast from the past...it's the UK Eurovision entry 2023.
I think we may get back to the pre Sam Ryder votes.
The video is a bit of a rip-off of this (better) song, imo.

A blast from the past... Today we have Miley Cyrus singing Flowers, a song about a woman ridding herself of a man she can do without.
This was my generations' song...it had the same message.

There are better audio versions out there, I just got a kick out of the dancers.
The Byrds were a group without a musical home back then. They were more of a rock group like that played country, that wouldn't get played much on rock or country stations.
There was more crossover than people think, at least amongst the artists.
This song was written by Dylan, and one of the Byrds, Gram Parsons, spent a summer in France hanging out with the Stones.
I don't think Gram even made it to the 27 club. Keith tried to warn him to slow down..

Gram and Emmylou.
She was a looker.
Guess she still is for her age. She hasn't transformed her face into something grotesque..
