I don't mind a nice hot dog with plenty of fried onions.
We are having an unhealthy night on Friday, I am doing pizza & garlic bread for 8 of us.
I will throw in a salad for light relief.

I had a steak and gravy pie last night because the butcher didn't have any 'Beefy Bake's'
It was shaped like a traditional Scotch Pie (which I hate) but this wee pie was nice.

Pasts type meal earlier and now sipping an Australian Red called Jammy Red.
Had it before about seven quid a bottle from ALDI.
Nice.

I had a chicken curry last night.
Very disappointing, two wee dods of chicken.

You could try doing your own, that way you can put in as much chicken as you want and avoid further disappointment. If you're not much of a cook, one quick and easy way is cut up boneless skinless thighs, or breast, brown in a pan, bung in some Patak's curry sauce, leave to cook for a bit and it's done.

I'll try that Guesty, I've been trying out new meals since I bought my slow cooker.
I've bought a gammon joint for later this week, do I just cook it or do I add sauces?

I've never cooked a joint in my slow cooker so, sorry, can't help with that. Just to add as an aside, I think it was you pointing out recently that microwave rice packs are too big for one person, you might want to check out Veetee rice pots, you get two separate pots, each one just about right for one person.

I wouldn't add sauces but
I would add some whole garlic cloves a whole peeled onion and maybe an apple...peeled and whole.
Maybe a couple of cloves.
You might find you don't need to add stuff out of cans or jars or packets at all.

I love garlic and I'm going food shopping later so that will get some cloves and I have apples.
I'll let you know how it goes.

i cook gammon in SC with brown sugar underneath and on top, it removes the salt… no liquid added, it makes its own!… it’s delicious!

I shall be dining here Thursday night.
Any recommendations? 🤷
The skirt steak salad sounds tasty.
Oh and House cookies for afters with a cup of tea.
You could dook the cookies in the tea when nobody is looking.
😎
Oooh, a fancy menu, I would be spoiled for choice.
No starter...your meals are too big. I would opt for this as a Mains I think. Though I would have to google what 'micro cilantro' was.
No pudding, just a chilled bottle of locally produced Chardonnay would be nice.
