Went to bed at 2, read till 3, got up three times in the night for a wee, wide awake at 6ish...but stayed in bed till around 9.30, just putting the world to rights in my head.
I seldom feel tired in the day, so I am lucky in that respect.
Is that normal for you Syl? I started having to get up once per night and found that that was disruptive enough so cut back on cuppas as the day went on and it’s helped.
I have always had to get up in the night, so it is normal for me.
Had loads of tests over the years, and no cause has been found. I am used to it.
I have insomnia aswell. Like you Syl I'm up a couple times at night but i do drink lots of water, even take bottle to bed. I've had insomnia since a teen.
Annoying, but so used to it after all these years.
Yep, it's just part of life.
I remember even when I was a kid and had sleepovers, I was the one who was always getting on the other kids nerves because they wanted to sleep and I was wide awake and wanting to talk.
Luckily I eventually married a man who can get to sleep and stay asleep in spite of my nocturnal ramblings.
or because of? Only joking, trying to brighten a rather dull morning here.

I can sleep easy 6 hours without waking if I don't drink that night. Even a few more if I'm really tired.
If I have more than one drink, it messes up my sleep..
But I still have a night or two a week where I'm wide awake at 4am for no particular reason..

The increasing amount of text speech on here has me having to Google more and more.

I've not seen it either. I do use tbh, or fgs, but that's only short cuts, not text speech in my eyes.

It seems I’m the baddie here, if I’m not mistaken, by using “FTFY” (fixed that for you). To me it’s no different to using LOL, PMSL, OMG, TBH, FYI, FGS, TL;DR etc but hey ho if abbreviations are frowned upon here then I’ll make a big effort not to upset posters by using “text speech” in future.

To be fair, none of this is text speech, but internet speech.
Text speech and it's abbreviations went out the window with auto suggest.
It's why my texts say duck or buck when I meant fuck..

Moving platforms doesn't stop it being text speech.

My grandson and I have our own code when we text...LYMTATSITS...he replies AILYMTATGOSOTE.
I use OH's phone for this... (still don't have one) he can't make head or tail of what we are on about.

Went to an eye specialist for some tests today. Won‘t go into detail cos it’s boring, but it seems I could have a steadily progressing problem…

Sorry to hear that Vam, hope everything turns out ok. Is your eye problem a new thing?

😲 I do hope it's not as bad as that. Maybe the hospital can do tests?

Aww…thanks Mags (& Anony) 🙂
I‘ve been experiencing significant vision loss in one eye over the last couple of years or so. Can barely see a thing with that eye, without a specialised lens in my specs. The plan now seems to be to stop the vision deterioration from spreading to my other eye.
I’ll know more next week, after I go get more scans and another CT - so, 🤞🏻🤞🏻 😉

All the best Vam.
I had a bit of a scare at the options last year.
Left eye not quite right and option wouldn't write me up for new specs till I'd been to the eye hospital to find out what was going on.
Two weeks later the hospital tell me I have a small cataract but he said he wasn't going to do anything about it as the problem was so small and his mothers cataract was twice the size of mine and she didn't need anything doing yet.
Cut sugar out of your life and your eyesight should hopefully last longer.
