That must be about 5,000 in and none out since Starmers's one in one out deal!
We can't send the migrants back due to Brexit, that's why the less genuine male refugees come from France to England, because they know they cannot be sent back.
The politicians are afraid of mentioning this lest they lose support from those vote Brexit but they needn't worry. Two thirds of those who voted Brexit openly admit their regret in doing so. I don't recall Farage telling people that would be the result of Brexit because he conned the masses and he's doing it again.
He intends to pay Afghanistan to take women and children refugees back (who will be stoned for fleeing under Taliban law).
Anyone who has no problems with that and doesn't think a distinction should be made between males travelling from France without documentation and condemns mothers and children to a death sentence by returning them to the Taliban has no business being PM.

Three migrants passed away struggling to get here by small boat yesterday, two were children.
Just thought I would mention the human cost of trying to get to the UK from far away countries in these boats crammed in like sardines in the dark often struggling to breathe, nothing to eat and scared to death.
May they rest in peace.

As expected, Mandelson has been sacked. One day after Starmer said he had full confidence in him. He also had full confidence in Rayner - and if we didn't know it already, everything that comes out of Starmer's gob, is not to be taken seriously. How much did he know about Mandelson and when? If the man in the street knew yesterday, Starmer knew more, yet he still gives him his full backing. He should fall on his sword, but has neither the courage nor self-awareness to do so
There are 100 or so emails between Mandelson and Epstein, including Mandelson urging his 'best pal' to challenge his first conviction.
Lib Dems leader Ed Davey says Starmer must "come before Parliament and explain why Lord Mandelson was appointed in the first place, given everything the Government knew then." He also called for the PM to appoint an ambassador who will "stand up to Trump, not cosy up to him and his cronies".

Another very important reason we have to stop the boats. Australia did it. They nipped that right in the bud from the get go.

I mean, we can't send them back. We are not part of the EU and the single market and it's against the law I'm sure Digs Syl and Avon could explain it far more eloquently than I.
Since we have created a very weak "one in one out deal" with France( which in fairness is the best Starmer could do. We chose to shoot ourselves in the metaphorical foot by leaving the biggest single market in the world with all the extra financial incentives and other perks it entailed. France didn't have to help us at all) I doubt they would be too amused if we decided to ship them all back to Calais after making aforementioned deal.

I am in total agreement. I confess I don't know how Australia stopped illegal migration but Google is my friend and it would certainly end a lot of civil unrest going further in this country.
I don't agree with Farage (or Starmer) lowering the amount of legal migration though as we badly need surgeons and medical staff, care assistants etc because otherwise these positions would not be filled, care assistants in particular.

What we need is to train our own people to be surgeons and medical staff, care assistants etc, because too many of them are malingering wastrels right now. We have too many Brits living off benefits and if you think any of those boats hold brain surgeons....?
We have plenty of people who can fill carer roles. Sadly, the British mentality is very different to when most of us worked for living often within the worst jobs in the world but work was preferable to benefits. I can reel off lots of shitty jobs I did from the age of 15 when I left school and also while bringing up a kid. I've worked like a dog most of my life. So all this bleeding heart rhetoric about how we need migrants won't wash with me.
As I see it, one of our problems was encouraging kids that going to Uni and getting a Micky Mouse degree was the only way to go. All it did was get them into debt and a job in Costa Coffee.

It's not illegal to send them back to France.
Australia implemented a multi-faceted policy, known as Operation Sovereign Borders to stop unauthorized immigration by sea. Key measures include turning boats back to their point of departure or a third country, offshoring asylum processing to countries like Nauru, mandatory detention, and a strict message that those arriving by boat will not be allowed to settle in Australia.
France don't want them and our Prime Minister is a weak, feckless idiot. Hence we've had 31K of them arriving this year. A really strong bargaining tool would have been the fishing rights desperately wanted by France that Starmer gave away for nothing for 12 years. It's not Brexit that has ruined Britain but the incompetent fools running it.

If you blink you would have missed the following story today. It was not a pinned story but rather a minor story place on a fast moving rolling news section of the BBC website:
Three men have been jailed for drugging and raping a 12-year-old girl over a three-day period.
Kevin Horvath, 26, and Ivan Turtak, 38, saw the victim in a supermarket car park in Dover on 11 August 2024 and encouraged her to get in their car.
She was then given drugs, including crystal meth and amphetamine, and repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted by them and a third man, 27-year-old Ernest Gunar.
Sentencing the trio, Judge Sarah Counsell told Canterbury Crown Court their victim still had nightmares, did not have any friends and did not feel comfortable around large groups.

One can learn a lot by monitoring what stories the national broadcaster prioritizes for their viewers and what stories they bury.

A quick follow up to the short BBC report of the raping of the 12 year old girl. Looking on Kent Online News one sees that the BBC have failed to mention the following:
"Slovakian nationals Kevin Horvath, Ernest Gunar and Ivan Turtak were convicted in June after a jury rejected their claims that the victim was a willing party and had lied to them about her age ... Two of the defendants will also face deportation after serving their prison spells in the UK. "
The Kent Online news story is even shorter than the BBC article but it gives details that the BBC make sure to omit. Further unanswered questions remain: were these Slovakians illegals into Britain, did they have a past history of crime in Slovakia, were they born in Slovakia, were they asylum seekers into Europe given Slovakian passport, what were their backgrounds their religion, etc etc.
I have seen thousands of such stories and the BBC nearly always reports those stories in the same way if at all. Anyone pointing out these observations are immediately branded by the Progressives as xenophobes, Islamophobes, and far right deserving of the Charlie Kirk treatment.

I really think, more so now than ever, since the last realisations that Starmer knew more about the Mandelson/Epstein involvement, and still defended him, it could be the last straw for many of his most loyal supporters in the cabinet.
Is Starmer on the way out?
If so....please let someone like Andy Burnham emerge as a possible future contender for the top job.

Manchester mayor Andy Burnham could be preparing to challenge Keir Starmer for PM, with a sitting MP allegedly ready to stand down to let him back into Parliament.
The Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester is an outspoken critic of government despite being in the same party as his Prime Minister, and is a fierce supporter of Lucy Powell in the race to become Labour Deputy Leader.
Powell is widely seen as the anti-Starmer candidate, and is pipped to be one half of a two-horse race against Cabinet member and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.
Speculation is building around Burnham as pressure on Sir Keir rises following the departure of former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and US ambassador Lord Mandelson.
Burnham has now put his weight behind new Labour movement Mainstream, a new network of party figures who are critical of Starmer and, more broadly, government.
