@ Mags, Syl, Jack and everyone who kindly asked… I was really dreading to hear the words ‘macular degeneration’ in my right eye. That’s a condition that can quite rapidly progress and spread to both eyes, and can lead to blindness.
But thankfully, tests showed just a relatively minor issue caused by a thickening of the retina. A quick blast of laser treatment was all it took to clear that up.
Job done, and it‘s all good
That's good news Vam, I can't imagine how relieved you are.
It takes something like that to put into perspective how the trivia we sometimes fret over is so unimportant.
Imagine not being able to drive, Syl! 😳 I was imagining all sorts, tbh. A few sleepless nights later, imagine the relief I’m now feeling
Thanks for your good wishes 💐
(hope you get your next car sorted soon. Cabríos are great - until they’re not. So maybe a really big sunroof instead next time?)

Losing sight must be one of the worst things to lose, your independence would be gone too, so happy for you that it's not come to that.
Yeah, maybe a panoramic roof would be the next best thing.

Oh Vam I'm so pleased your eyes are fine.now.
To lose our sight is horrific. We lose our independence, everything.
So happy for you x

It’s okay, Mags…I speak fluent Dawg
He means he’s glad I’m okay. And now that he knows I’m okay, he can start rolling his effin eyes at my posts again. He’s a pain in the ass, but at least he’s OUR pain in the ass.
Thanks for your good wishes 💐😘

In this case, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ translates as … ’PRETTY!’
So, is that gonna be Syl’s new little passion wagon? 😎

Exactly the same as that one Vam...same year too. It's 10 years old, but very low mileage and looks brand new. I will post a pic when we get the actual one.
Thanks for the translation.
It reminds me of years ago, we were on holiday in Spain, we met a German couple with a boy the same age as our son, and like kids do, they hooked up together and were inseparable.
The mum and dad couldn't speak any English, we knew no German, but we managed to have a couple of lovely nights out together, and when the time came to leave, we promised to write.
I bought a German phrase book, and managed to 'compose' one, not imagining she would be able to make head or tail of it...and she did the same with an English translation book.
We kept in touch for a while....lovely memories brought back by your simple post. x

Irritation...eye floaters.
I don't know if anyone has them, I have had a couple of small ones for a long time. When I had my cataracts done, the surgeon said they may look clearer after the op, but they haven't, they were still almost unnoticeable.
However, yesterday I got up and immediately noticed a black shadow in the right eye, it was like I had hair in front of my eye, or an insect floating around...it makes it difficult to read, as it floats back and forth across the page with my eye movement.
It was still there today, so I rang the opticians, they told me to come in straight away. They did loads of tests, took pictures, before and after drops, then did all the tests again....very efficient.
Anyway....it is just a floater, and I will have to learn to live with it, apparently, with it happening so suddenly, it could have been something serious, so I guess I am lucky.
