I really think, more so now than ever, since the last realisations that Starmer knew more about the Mandelson/Epstein involvement, and still defended him, it could be the last straw for many of his most loyal supporters in the cabinet.
Is Starmer on the way out? If so....please let someone like Andy Burnham emerge as a possible future contender for the top job.
No not another Labour leftie. Let's have an election!
I think it's more likely that Labour MP's will vote against him remaining as PM, he may resign like Thatcher did.
I remember Andy Burnham, Syl. I think I’ve told you before that my impression of him at the time was that he seems pretty grounded and competent. He’d certainly be a much-needed upgrade!
From what I’ve been reading on here, the only thing dumber than Starmer is two Starmers.

Speaking of lefties, my favorite makes some excellent points as always. The video takes a minute until he discusses your fair country..

I have hoped for a long time he would get himself back into mainstream politics. There is a chance he could be re elected as an MP, and if he is, I do believe he will be PM one day, and sooner rather than later.
And the thought of TWO Starmers , is the stuff of nightmares.

If that’s how it rolls, he‘s still relatively young so there’s still time. (I Googled - he’s only 55). Plus he’s got the credentials, having held cabinet positions, and as Mayor of the vast metropolis where you live

Well we can thank Starmer for the sudden increase in the rise of free speech being punished, he was acting the big hard man after the Southport slayings of children, concentrating on the wrong things as usual.
But even so, I think free speech here, though curtailed somewhat thanks to Starmer, is less likely to end with a bullet in the throat.

That's true.
And that's one reason governments limit speech. Speech can make folks angry..
We are quite the outlier. In theory we trust armed people to say offensive things to each other. And unfortunately we have a handful of people that can't handle that abuse that trust.

Maybe young people should be encouraged to do a stint on an open forum like this one.
It's the norm to be insulted, disagreed with, to hear things that may offend you to the very core....but it's a good way to learn to be accepting of other peoples ridiculousness, without resorting to violence. It also encourages debate, which is what Charlie Kirk was doing....albeit, obviously deliberately provoking and offending as he went....just like a forum.

Yeah, we used to be exposed to all sorts of views because we couldn't filter out what we saw or read..
We all read the same news and had the same media.
Now there are rabbit holes people go down where everyone agrees with them and when folks come up and get hit with a view they don't like, it sets them off..
I saw a lady talking the other day about how we think we are all living in the same world and seeing the same information, but because of social media algorithms we all have very different information about the same event.

Is this the kind of mentality we are letting into Britain?
“ The Home Office has advertised for a religious adviser to help detained migrants get married - despite the risk of sham ceremonies “
The vacancy for the religious affairs manager post is at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre, near the village of Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
It was announced last year the immigration detention facility near Oxford would be reopened after it shut in 2018 amid riots, escapes and poor conditions.
The centre, which has space for up to 400 people waiting for their immigration status to be resolved, is now expected to open its doors in December.
Among the 'main duties' on the ad for its religious adviser is needing to 'counsel residents who request marriage while in custody and make any arrangements for the wedding'.
It comes as part of the 'comprehensive programme of religious activities', including 'pastoral care', they must provide for the various faiths represented at the facility.
Detainees - which includes convicted criminals and refused asylum seekers awaiting removal - can under human rights law marry while in such centres.
This is despite the risk of so-called 'sham' ceremonies, which can see detained migrants tie the knot with a British citizen to try to avoid deportation*.
A hairdressing tutor, hospitality and floristry tutor, painting and decorating tutor and gym manager are among the 32 jobs currently available at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre.

Why I am not surprised? Think of the most destruction thing that could happen for traditional English society and there will be a home office policy for it. I have just read a short article of potential damaging leaks from GCHQ when one of the Diversity Hires and proud follower of Islam, Hasaan Arshad, was found with a stash of sensitive GCHQ data on his home computer. There is a lot of other things going on that is either not reported or is unbeknown to GCHQ - the British Intelligence Agency.

IF the Labour party decides they have no confidence in Starmer (who does?) and he is forced to step down, who will replace him, and can anyone stop the rise of the Reform party, which, as things are, will surely be in power come the next general election.
No one can argue that the present government have made a bad situation worse. The deputy PM, has gone having been found out about her tax 'errors', Mandleson, the latest one to go, has been proven to be a supporter of paedophiles, which Starmer knew all about, and many others have been shown up to be liars indulging in possible dodgy deals.
And then we have Farage, who is winning over the GB public with his one mantra....to get rid of illegal immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and possibly everyone else who is here claiming to need refuge...whether they need it or not. His grooming of the British public, especially if things carry on as they are, will be complete come 2029.
In the meantime, any suggestions of who/what will dig us out of this 'black hole'...that Labour have blamed the previous government for, which we find ourselves in?

It's very unlikely a general election would be called before 2029 Mags....we have a Labour government, we desperately need new leaders to be appointed though.

I signed it
So do you agree that women, who have risked everything to get here, should be sent back to be ruled by the taliban, Mags?
Didn't know it was women going to Afghanistan. I do agree women should return with all their kids back to their country though.
