Talking of Temu…when you don’t read the description/info

Amazon shoe/clothing rep is often justified - much of it looks like a load of tat, tbh.
BUT I wanted a splash of colour to wear with black ankle length jeans and black tee shirt. Couldn’t be arsed to go trawling around a store, and found some peep-toe block heel mules on Amazon in a gorgeous metallic burnt orange shade (The Drop is the vendor, I think).
I didn’t expect too much in the way of quality for the price I paid, but I really was pleasantly surprised. They look great and are comfortable to wear.

The heat. It's too hot. We live in a top floor flat that resembles an oven. There are all these nutters on the beach, putting OIL on to tan. What about UV protection? 34 degrees Celsius..is too much for Celts. We are not used to such climates

One of the downsides of the heat, got up this morning, opened the curtains, one of the big bay windows at the front of the house is shattered.
It's the inside of the double glazing, we have put tarpaulin over it just in case the glass falls...it's still crackling....quite scary .
It can only be the heat, as that window gets full sun for hours.
Typically it's Sunday, so we can't get in touch with the glaziers who installed the window till tomorrow, hopefully we are covered.

This happens when one part of the glass heats up more than the other, its called thermal expansion

Yep....never known it to happen before. Hopefully someone will come out tomorrow and sort it. We have only had the windows fitted 3 years ago, so hopefully there will be no problem.

Aww…that’s a bummer, Syl.
I didn’t realise the UK could reach soaring temperatures to levels that can shatter glass!

It's been unusually hot so far this summer Vam...this is the third heatwave we have had.
A heatwave here is measured by if we get 3 consecutive days reaching a certain temp...I think in Manchester it's 28c.
I actually think for the morning sun to shatter a double glazing unit is pretty unusual.

Sorry Syl just seen this. I have never heard of this before.
It's not a parody, he is an etiquette 'expert', he pops up on radio and some TV shows, telling people how to correctly eat peas, hold cutlery, what wines to order...etc.

Very scary.😮
Hope it's sorted very quickly x
Thanks Mags...even the glazier had not seen anything like this before, apart from when someone threw a brick at a window and it shattered similarly... but then there was a visible brick mark.

He is very annoying, quite pompous, but that's just the way he is.

Is your glass different than ours?
I have never seen that happen here..
Neither had the glazier who came to have a look today, and they have been in business for decades.
I think it's possible there could have been a flaw in the glass and coupled with the intense heat we have had the glass has shattered, like a car windscreen would shatter....very odd, as they were fitted almost 3 years ago.

This may be the most irritating man on the internet..
I'm still trying to figure out if this is parody.
