”Sarah Ferguson dropped from multiple charities over Epstein email”
Seven charities have dropped the Duchess of York as a patron or ambassador after an email from 2011 revealed that she called sex offender Jeffrey Epstein her "supreme friend" and seemed to apologise for her public criticism of him. A spokesperson for the duchess said she was not commenting on the charities' decisions to end their links with her.
It comes after the Mail on Sunday and Sun newspapers published a 2011 email from the duchess to Epstein, which appears to have been sent after she had publicly claimed to have broken off contact with him.
In the email, she appeared to privately apologise for her public rejection of Epstein, saying: "You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cddmr6v0jpzo

My tablets on 1% but as to your last point, I know they don't. Because we need immigrants to work positions people born and bred here won't deign to consider. But some of the public won't listen to this any more than they will endure listening to the truth that Brexit left us far poorer and more vulnerable as a country.

You're right about a lot of Brits shirking work. But that's the fault of all successive governments. While benefits continue to pay out more than wages then it's inevitable what people will choose. Bringing over illegal migrants into low paid work doesn't improve that. it perpetuates it.
When benefits first came into being you got the absolute minimum to live off, for a limited time. Now, it's a lifestyle choice.
We don't need illegal immigrants in this country. And it's not fair to the immigrants who do things legally. Imagine how they feel?
As for Trump, I feel the same about him as I felt about Margaret Thatcher. One thing I do admire in a politician is a back bone. That doesn't mean they are perfect or don't make mistakes or aren't arseholes. I don't even have to like them as people. I'm not bothered if they're arseholes so long as they listen to the people of their country, put them first, and get the job done to the best of their ability and don't kowtow to woke nonsense and idiotic shibboleths.

Personally I couldn't stand Thatcher, she seemed to never listen to anyone, when she said 'The ladies not for turning' that's exactly what she meant, sod the consequences.
But in light of how the country is being run into the ground over the last years, we could do with someone like her back in power again.
I would hate a Trump style leader over here, he encourages hate. We have weak leaders, but they don't encourage hatred and a them v us mentality in the same way as Trumps government does.
I have a feeling if Reform gets in, in 2029, we will be going down the same road as the Americas ....and that's a scary thought.

I think our current government does encourage division and hate. The gender bender shite has caused endless problems with women being side lined in all areas, from our private spaces to our sports. People lost their jobs because they dared speak out about it. Then we've got the two tier policing, another divisive tool wielded like some communist hammer. We've had endless protests going on all over the country with leftie thugs screaming poison, sitting in roads and stopping traffic until people's lives have actually been in jeopardy because emergency services couldn't get through. All political marches and demonstrations should be banned IMO. They cause nothing but problems. The weakness of this government has done nothing but cause bad feeling, resentment and stirred up hatred, compounded by its failure to stop the influx of illegals and favour them in place of our own people.
Reform may or may not do a better job but they sure as hell can't do worse.

I‘m very much out of the loop when it’s about UK politics. The only platform where I’m learning more about what’s going on, is here. So I mostly try and maintain a respectful distance, and don’t comment much on UK issues.
But I will say this: Unless I’m mistaken, braying big-mouth Farage was pretty much consigned to irrelevance for a while. Then, along came trump to inspire all the tinpot trump-wannabes, like Farage, to crawl back out into the spotlight.
Further proof, if any were needed, that what happens in America can trickle out onto the rest of the world.

Farage is a one trick pony imo.
He knows the UK is sick and tired of uncontrolled immigrants coming here and getting preferential treatment, and that's what will probably get him voted in come the next generation. When things dont pan out as planned, like with Brexit....he will bugger off again as soon as he has made a bigger mess of the country.

Trump also is a compulsive liar, like this new assertion that paracetamol causes autism in children . He has now decided to declare Sharia Law is happening in.London just because he doesn't like the Mayor of London being Muslim. He sees that Farage is making headway with his bigotry and is trying to cause more division here. Or poison as Avon cited in.The Kirk thread.
I do agree that Muslim laws being forced on women in order to control and repress is not acceptable in this country but I respect Muslim women who want to follow the doctrine of their own free will.
I understand people's fears about immigration I do, and Starmer is a wet lettuce. But Reform and leaving the European Court of human rights is not the way, just the thought of giving up our freedoms and being totally isolated scares me. Farage is also woefully dishonest, still waiting for the 20 million he promised the NHS. Sadly I think he will be out next PM Syl, because people seem to care more about immigration than their own freedom. I can't pretend to understand it.

There are enough threads about Trump without it having to take up the subject matter on non-Trump threads. Since 2015 when Trump first announced his intention to run for the Presidency the BBC and the Left leaning British Public have been obsessed talking and writing non-stop about Trump, including during the Biden years and ignoring what is going on on their own doorstep. Most people now see the world through a Trump prism - everything that is going on in the world is somehow shoe-horned through a "how is this connected to Trump" worldview and then deciding they must take an opposite view from the so-called Trump view that the left leaning media presents to us.

I think all the media talks about Trump,, the right most of all since they endorse his bigoted baseless views! The fascination is he is a convicted felon who just makes up absurd lies about everything. The latest drivel is the accusation of "Sharia law being practiced in London". When Trump talks about London that is the connect to Britain, hence on this thread.
What left leaning media. ,really? Every time you turn on the news it's dissent and pearl clutching about immigrants, immigrants, Nigel Farage speaking then more talk about immigrants. The "woke left" simply aren't visible, the right are running the show.
The right often led by Tommy Robinson are the ones involved in public disorder , mob rule frightening people both living and working in migrant hotels chanting and braying. The left protesting about Palestine just sat down holding placards. They didn't shout or scream like the baying mob yet they were still arrested , even an elderly woman in.a wheelchair was compliant as they manhandled her chair to cart her off to the cop shop. Yes, she was a real menace to society.(!)
The right are letting it known to legal migrants working as carers or nurses they think they are dirt on their shoe. The truth is without migrant workers hospitals and care homes would be pandemonium within an hour.
I can't think of any left commentators speaking up, except one gentleman. No woke lefties are stopping the right saying what they want, including Trump. There is four times the amount of crime in the US capital so he should look to his own country before meddling in ours to assist his good friend Nige. He just can't stand it that Brits voted for a non white mayor 3 times. A gentleman that led Pride endorsing Sharia Law?
But I will make that my last Trump related post on here by all means. When he speaks about Britain you can understand why it happens but if it doesn't interest you Anon, don't read.

Farage does not care. He is a millionaire playing at being one of the lads down the pub, using people's negative views about immigrants to achieve power. The rest of Reform are a shambles, one lady in.particular is never prepared for interviews..They are just not a credible party to run the country, They are a rabble thrown together with one common interest.

And to help him recall them, this list is of towns where PAKISTANI MUSLIM GROOMING GANGS have operated, been found, charged and served jail sentences. Since the list was compiled, many other gangs around the country have been arrested and imprisoned.

The alternative, voting for a morally bankrupt Putin admirer who has no qualms sending women to certain death and asking him to take away our freedoms is no alternative anybody should realistically consider. Apparently Labour and the Lib Dems will form a coalition government to keep Reform out. I hope it's enough.
Cameron was far too complacent with Brexit. People need to be saved from themselves.
The Reform UK leader said the eastward expansion of the European Union and Nato had provided the Russian leader with a “reason” to make the case for war to his people.
Nigel Farage has named Russia's Vladimir Putin as the leader he most admires, calling his handling of the Syria crisis "brilliant".
Farage said he liked the Russian president for the way he worked rather than for his political and personal approach.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has delivered a furious condemnation of Nigel Farage, branding his assertion that the West provoked Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine as "appalling" and a gift to the Russian dictator's propaganda machine.
Nigel Farage has reiterated that he blames the West and NATO for the Russian invasion of Ukraine - as he confirmed that he previously said he "admired" Vladimir Putin as a statesman.
Speaking to the BBC, the Reform UK leader was asked about his previous comments on Russia and Ukraine.
Asked about Russia's 2022 invasion, Mr Farage told Nick Robinson that he had been saying since the fall of the Berlin Wall that there would be a war in Ukraine due to the "ever-eastward expansion of NATO and the European Union".
Starmer hasn't the emotional or mental integrity to lead. Why do you keep citing Brexit as the reason this country has gone tits up. It was going badly wrong way before then. We were in the same place back in the 1970s with Labour in charge.
It took Margaret Thatcher - who might as well have been a female version of Trump according to her haters - a woman who, in retrospect, had enough balls to stand up to the stranglehold of the unions and bring this country back on course. She made mistakes. They all do. But all Starmer does is bounce from one disaster to the next. Thatcher wouldn't have hesitated to tell the French to fuck off with their fishing rights until they stopped sending migrants our way, and she would never have sanctioned bringing them all here with hotels and benefits and spending money! They would never have gotten to stand on our shores.
Back in the day, if you admired Thatcher you were just as reviled as those who admire Farage.
But she and her kind are all gone. What we have now are a bunch of vacillating woke short sighted fearful fools with strings being jerked from higher places.
Of course you left out the part where Farage said he didn't like Putin.
I'll tell you why the migrants keep coming. Because our Government doesn't want to stop them.

All of Europe is in worse economic shape.
Why is that?
It's a turbulent time for all since Covid no doubt. But other countries have recovered far better than us. Obviously Brexit is the reason as it cost us a lot more to trade. We took ourselves out of the world's biggest single market. Everyonehas pretty much admitted Brexit is to.blame and two thirds regret voting for it that were polled. But they were conned by Farage who.knew what he was doing.
Austerity measures by the Tories didn't help and Liz Truss (a Tory) made the country bankrupt over night. That wouldn't have helped much either.

Nice.
His statement about paracetamol must be causing many parents untold worry.
I wonder where he gets his medical info from, because this isn't the first time he has come out with oddball comments regarding health matters.
I also think Farage will be the next PM. The only man to stop him (imo) would be Andy Burnham, and he recently has not ruled out that he would be up for the challenge....and a big challenge it would be.
Pakistani Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, pretending he doesn't know about the Pakistani rape gangs
So why are you going on about him in a none Trump thread?
I think Andy Burnham would be the convincer, people trust and respect him. He speaks his mind, has more backbone than Starmer (not that that's a huge achievement!) and actually cares about British people.
I really hope he does become PM Syl because he would look after the countries interest not his own.
He must be the only person in the UK who didn't know what she meant.
Why though was she not more specific. to nudge his memory..she said multiple times GROOMING GANGS. Why did she not make it clearer, they are predominately PAKISTANI MUSLIM GROOMING GANGS.
And to help him recall them, this list is of towns where PAKISTANI MUSLIM GROOMING GANGS have operated, been found, charged and served jail sentences. Since the list was compiled, many other gangs around the country have been arrested and imprisoned.

Bill Clinton and Nixon were also felons.
Austerity measures by the Tories didn't help and Liz Truss (a Tory) made the country bankrupt over night
. That wouldn't have helped much either.
