If people can only apply for benefits/housing/health services if they have an ID card would you be in favour?
No, for a start most pensioner won't be issued with them, plus everyone who is entitled to be here already has several means of identification, passport, driving licence, etc.
It's just another pointless Labour excercise imo.

The people that already work illegally and those that pay them illegally, ie cash in hand, will continue to do the same given that it's already illegal. They don't care about tax and insurance, so why would they care about ID cards?
Unless those coming in on the boats all have CVs, get suited up for interviews, and apply for jobs through the proper channels, then it won't change anything.
Once digital IDs are in place, it will become real Big Brother stuff, with alll sorts of invasions of privacy and restrictions possible in the future, because it sure as hell won't stop at just being a means to check someone's eligibility to work.

The Royal Parks have rejected Nigel Farage’s claims that migrants are killing and eating swans from their grounds.
The Reform UK leader suggested that eastern European migrants are taking swans from Royal Parks and carp from ponds across the UK to eat.
Someone mentioned Farage was correct in claiming immigrants consuming swans. I suppose he could tell they were immigrants by their race, because
only white people are born in Britain ..or a taxi driver told him.
That lie( that he has tried twice now) has of course, been debunked by the Royal Parks. If anyone has proof of immigrants eating swans, please reply to this post hence the bump because no offence to anyone, I don't believe it.Swans going missing is not proof of immigrants consuming them.

In Response to above comments regarding Sharia Law.

Article: Britain becomes 'western capital' for sharia law courts as 85 open throughout the UK
Serve as informal bodies issuing religious rulings focused on marriages and divorces. Currently 85 Islamic councils now operate across the UK since the first was established in 1982.
Typically consist of panels of Islamic scholars mainly male, issuing religious rulings particularly focused on marriages and divorces.
Sharia defined ... as jurisprudence based on Islamic scholars' opinions from the time of Mohammed in the 7th century until the 13th century.
An estimated 100,000 Islamic marriages have been conducted in Britain, with many not officially registered with civil authorities.
... Men seeking Islamic divorces can end their marriages simply by saying "divorce" three times ...
Normalisation of polygamy is evident through modern technology, with an app allowing Muslim men in England and Wales to create Islamic wills.
The app features a drop-down menu enabling men to specify between one and four wives...
Need to consult with a Sharia Law Court in the UK? Then start here with the Muslim Law (Shariah) Council UK
https://www.shariahcouncil.org/
Personally I have no issue with this and it is absolutely necessary given "multiculturalism" and the fact that Islam is a major feature within parts of the UK with several million Muslims. The issue that some may be concerned with is that within communities within the UK where Muslims and Islam is the dominant local feature then there may exist self-governing "Sharia Police" ensuring people living in the area especially the Muslim population behave as "good Muslims".
Trump stated that the Mayor of London was "bringing" Sharia Law to the UK, his agenda is a personal spat that has lasted 3 years. He knows racial tensions are running high at the moment and despite his apparent good relations with Starmer, it's clear this narrative is intended to help Reform. I'm curious why you put the word "multiculturalism" in inverted commas ! It is an actual word!
This is a condensed 12 minute interview with the Mayor where he addresses Sharia Law, Trump, Andy Burnham and the surprisingly low crime rates in the capital.

They're eating the swans. they're eating the cats! It's obvious that Trump is just taking a leaf out of Trump's playbook and spreading lurid innuendo to whip up anti-immigrant sentiment.
It's the same old nonsense. We are coming up to the end of the year and no doubt the Daily Mail will start wanging on about how "they are trying to cancel Christmas" because some primary school in Birmingham once decided they didn't want to have a Nativity play. Hopefully, Nigel Farage will point us in the direction of the prosecutions arising from these unidentified immigrants so the general public can assess the scale of any problem for themselves. Or maybe not.
I sincerely hope that we as a nation resist any attempt to Americanise our politics and our unique national character.

Agreed. Labour is not my party of choice but I did expect a huge improvement from the Tories. I think Starmer is very badly advised but that's not good enough. He should go with his original political leanings because whilst they were more to the left which people don't seem to like, he would never have introduced Winter fuel allowance cuts or any of the other disasters that have made him so unpopular.
Burnham has effectively said that if he has the necessary support and votes needed, he would challenge Starmer as PM. I know you would lose your excellent Mayor Syl but I am praying Andy does just that.

I agree totally especially the BIB but if other people felt they had sources citing otherwise I want to be fair.
However the daunting truth is unless Andy Burnham becomes PM of Labour we WILL have Farage as PM and..I find that a genuinely chilling prospect. Not enough people are voting for Lib Dems (which is a shame) and although they suggested a coalition Farage 's popularity is such polling indicates he would still win.
I don't think enough people consider what leaving the European Courts of Human Rights would actually mean for trade, our reputation on the world stage, workers rights, well everyone 's rights...just to get rid of non white faces. Farage has promised he will return genuine female refugees back to the Taliban, which is a certain death sentence.

No one in the UK can be arrested for viewing a social media post.
I read some sort of official police statement that suggested that the kid had actually sent or was involved in sending malicious messages. They did deny it was due to simply viewing a message.Who knows what’s true these days.
Came across the link to back up my post, the official police explanation…
” We are aware of reports that we are investigating a child for viewing a social media post. This is completely incorrect.
We are investigating after a complaint from a member of the public that a fake social media account had been created in their name and had been used to send indecent messages.
The offence being investigated is one of malicious communications - sending indecent or grossly offensive communication to cause distress or anxiety.
The messages are of an incredibly serious nature and have caused serious concern for the victim.
Officers made a number of attempts to speak to a suspect, a teenage girl, at her home address in Walsall earlier this month as part of the investigation.
On 13 September, we spoke to the girl’s mother at her home and explained we needed to speak to her daughter and recover her mobile phone as part of the investigation.
The following day, the girl attended a police station for a voluntary interview, and the investigation continues.
We are aware of a brief and heavily edited video clip showing part of the 13 September visit.
Andy Burnham said this week IF he was to re-enter parliament and be elected PM, one of the main objectives would be to stop Farage and Reform being elected in the next general election.
Surveys have shown that previous Labour voters are so anti Starmer they will vote Reform rather than Labour in the next election, but Burnham could alter that...especially in the north, where he is a popular figure.
It seems many Labour MP's are still backing Starmer though, so who knows what will happen.

Farage was the one who mostly lied about how immigration would improve if we voted for Brexit....it's a lot worse.
He is doing the same thing now...vote Reform, solve the immigration crisis. He made it worse in the first place.
If he gets in and it's proven he and his policies dont work, he will do another disappearing act, just like he did after Brexit.
