Okay, Dawg… if it’s worse than I think, again, Insurrection Act - yes or no? He said he’d do it, if only to avoid all the Court orders blocking him.
Also, given how fiscally-minded you (rightfully) are, are these troop deployments really the best use of your tax dollars at work?

Its a waste of money. But here's the problem. The Feds are going to enforce immigration. People aren't going to like it. They are literally fighting ICE.
The Insurrection act can be used to defend federal officers. And in some cities (Chicago) local cops are refusing to help ICE when they are attacked.
Trump is going to ratchet it up if you give him an excuse.
Both sides are playing a game of chicken..

"The President can deploy troops if enforcing federal law in a state is made impracticable by "unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion" through the usual judicial processes. This allows the President to act unilaterally when federal law is being defied and state authorities cannot or will not resolve the issue."

Yep. So, like I said, you know he’s gonna do it.
The problem with this narcissistic sociopath is, right from the time his Daddy gifted him around $400Million (which he squandered), he has never accepted the word ‘NO!’ throughout his adult life.
Now, as POTUS, he feels all of America is his and will bend to his will. He can’t be assed with any Lower Court judgments that try to block what he wants to do. Not when he’s got his people embedded at SCOTUS who are, in effect, mainly there to rubber-stamp his every whim … 👇🏻

I just quoted the law.
If ICE is interfered with too much, that's the law he will quote.

If this goes ahead...it could be the end of the conflict, for now at least.
My thoughts are Trump deserves some credit, will take all credit, be hailed by his supporters as the peace giver of all times....then I think he will either die (he looks and sounds ill) or retire, being remembered as the greatest POTUS that ever drew breath.

It will be a wonderful achievement to have peace, finally in Gaza!
Trump did well, credit where credit is due. He could win the Peace Prize, why not.

It’s great to hear the remaining hostages will be released.
And yeah, I guess he deserves some credit for whatever part he might have played in this early phase of the ceasefire agreement. The cynical part of me cant help grinning at the timing of it all though - on the eve of the Nobel winner being announced.
Also, per multiple news reports, Israel are still bombing Gaza to this very day.

If they are right, it will suck.
But I also know their bullshit is part of the problem in this country.
King is a well known partisan hack, not a source I'd find reliable..
The other two are politicians as bad as Trump and are both positioning themselves for a presidential run in 2028..

Hi Vam, Israel should stop the bombing now. Fgs, give the people a break. No more killing. I don't trust the Israel PM, never liked him, he's a dictator.
Peace would be fantastic for Israel and Palestine! Let them go back to their land and rebuild with help from many countries.

Trump has certainly campaigned for himself to get the peace prize, and I agree, the timing is very suspect.
I hope he doesn't bully his way into getting the honour....I suspect he might have.

Like yourself Vam,I feel rather cynical about anything the Orange one does but the BIB is so vital and will end the endless torment of innocent civilians and their families.
Whilst he is forging peace here, early days or no, he remains a very divisive character in his own country. I note he slated Joe Biden again , the only President to have his picture removed from the White House and replaced by a pen. ,
He received a personal plane from.Qatar worth 400 million, maybe that motivated him. He loves gifts and flattery. But iif there really is a realistic chance Trump has helped end the war he deserves much credit.
