He has totally lost it Trump is now planning tariffs on films made outside America, apparently due to possible security threats. Well, you can't possibly allow people to make films in other countries can you. Does he realise he is meant to be the President of the US and not a dictator set on world domination?! It has been met with some damning reactions considering it's stupidity but it seems to have had a negative impact.
Seeing Charles Dance, the epitome of grace, say the words "Donald Trump" with obvious disdain was a delight.
In September, on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote that America's "movie making business has been stolen….by other countries…like…'cand
The reaction in the U.K., where so many U.S. movies are filming, has been the most vitriolic.
“This makes no sense,” a U.K. producer railed. “It implies that a U.S. film is meant to shoot in the U.S. But the ‘Harry Potter’ films, ‘Lord Of The Rings,’ ‘Schindler’s List,’ ‘Mission Impossible,’ ‘Gladiator,’ ‘Avatar’ and so many more are U.S films that shot overseas for obvious reasons. Do these films have to shoot in the U.S. from now on? It’s an absurd announcement with no meaning nor understanding of storytelling or creative impulses.”
At West London Film Studios, where Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso is currently being shot and major productions from Bridget Jones's Baby to Killing Eve have all filmed, it pains owner Frank Khalid that one of his biggest stages is empty.
"Prior to [Trump] posting that we had quite some big major features come to us looking for space," he says, "and it's just gone very quiet since he posted… maybe it's a coincidence, I don't know, but I believe it has affected us."

Spin: ‘I hear very few people are gonna be there.’ ~ Donald Trump
Reality: Official figure is 7 million people showed up, making it the largest protest in American history.
(solidarity protests were going on too, in cities all over the world - including in Syl’s neck of the woods )

No traditional Oval Office address to the nation, promising he’d try to do better. Instead, the President of the United States decided that his appropriate response to the protests was to post an AI-generated video, depicting him as a fighter pilot taking a dump on the American people.

A fighter pilot now? Here's a sample of Trump's propaganda art using idealised images to portray himself as a superhuman being. A technique traditionally used by leaders of authoritarian regimes.
The reality (lest we forget)

Are you serious, Dawg? It took me less than a minute scrolling around social media to see at least a dozen more similar to this one … 👇🏻
I didn't say there were no young people.
I asked what the median age was..
Speaking of social media, I think that's where younger people do their activism. At least outside of college campuses..
All ages. All walks of life. All income brackets.
All 7 million of them united in one common goal: to see trump‘s ass evicted from the White House.
And especially this lovely gentleman… 👇🏻 😢
Of course their were all ages.
Do you know what a median is?

Why are there so many boomers at anti-Trump protests? https://share.google/SyUpODDTLfyhYDfCa
From the last protest. It's not gone unnoticed.

(*there, by the way)
Why do you keep focusing on age groups, rather than on why they all collectively showed up to protest?

Because I find it interesting when I see certain demographics over-represented. I'm not the only one either.
Historically, these sort of protests have skewed very young. These recent ones are skewing very white, old and female. I find that more interesting than why they are there.

And yet, as you’ve seen, I find it less interesting 🤷🏻♀️ In fact, I couldn’t care less about age group stats among those who participated in the rallies. From the little I’ve noticed on that subject, it seems over 60’s protesters seemed to be more prevalent in smaller towns and within rural communities.
Btw, the National Park Service has now confirmed the official figure: 8.1 million protestors (spanning several generations 😜)

Unless they’re infiltrators, only there to cause trouble and incite people into violence, no, I don’t. It’s why people show up that interests me, as I’ve already said.
Are we done yet?
